Britney Spears Reflects on Being Single, Says It's 'So Weird': 'I Wear My Heart on My Sleeve'

“The way I live my life is mine,” the pop superstar said in an Instagram post on Saturday

Britney Spears is getting real about her single life.

The pop superstar, 42, shared a candid post on Instagram on Sunday morning, in which she reflected on life as a single woman.

“It’s so weird being alone,” Spears began her caption, which was written alongside a photo of a nun drinking, through a straw, from a teacup.

“I had a lot of time to really look back with all the good and bad… I realized that I don’t talk to myself that nicely at all,” the singer published her memoirs The woman in me in October, he added.

She continued: “I’m easily manipulated and I wear my heart on my sleeve … But I’m definitely changing all that … I have to find time to stop and look around to reevaluate myself and say is this good for me? ??”

I like routine and I usually do the same thing every day, Spears added.

“I’m honestly bored, but I’m also afraid of a lot of things … The way I live my life is my own … I’ve had so many people interfere with it … But to know that it’s okay to be selfish with your life and enjoy it is amazing!!!” she continued the caption.

Spears and ex-husband Sam Aghari split after 14 months of marriage back in August, when a source told PEOPLE that she’s still “in good spirits despite everything that’s going on.”

“Obviously it’s never easy to go through, but she’s staying positive and focused on the future,” the source added, noting that Spears is “focused on getting her book out, having an upcoming writer’s camp and getting songs from some big artists.”

The “Toxic” singer was revealed last month. The woman in me sold over a million copies in its first week of availability.

At the time, Spears said in a post that she was “grateful to my fans and readers around the world for their unwavering support.”
