Josh Groban was born in Los Angeles, California on February 27, 1981. Lindy (née Johnston), a teacher, and Jack Groban, a businessman, were his parents. Josh has a brother named Chris, who was born on the day Josh turned four.
In 1999, he graduated from Los Angeles County High School for Arts. He studied theater. He attended Carnegie Mellon University before dropping out to pursue a career in music. They approached him about a recording contract.
