My 600-Lb. Life Production Crew Breaks ‘Cardinal Rule’ to Assist After Road Mishap

My 600 lb. Life the production crew broke the “cardinal rule” during filming.

TLC released a teaser clip for Wednesday night’s new episode that shows crew members jumping in front of the camera after patient Delana’s car breaks down on her way to see Houston bariatric surgeon Dr. Younan Nowzaradan aka Dr. Now.

“We’re going to Houston today because I’ve made an appointment with Dr. Now. And it’s only in a few days. For the last month, since my horrible fall in front of my house, I’ve been trying to jumpstart my own weight loss, and I’m pretty sure that it’s working because I’m already feeling better,” Delana says in a voiceover at the start of the clip.

The clip begins with Delana sitting on a rolling chair as she pushes herself to the entrance of her home. Once outside, she used a walker to get closer to the gray van she would be traveling in.

“I feel great about the trip. I mean, I’m still nervous and scared about it. [I] I haven’t been on a trip for a very long time. I’m excited, extremely excited, because I’m going to see Dr. Now, which has been a long time coming,” continues Delana.

After struggling to get inside, she says the trip is “a bit scary” because she and a male companion named James will drive seven hours one day and go through a “six-and-a-half, seven-hour drive” the next day.

Delana adds that she is not worried about whether she will be on time for the appointment because their car is “perfectly fine”.

James says, “All those lights came back on,” and Delana replies, “We’re stuck on the fucking road.”

Four crew members are then seen pushing the van along the side of the busy highway. The black screen reappears with the caption: “The camera crew broke their rule of never intervening to get James and Delana to safety.”

When Delana asks James if the van overheated, he says, “It just stopped,” and that it’s “the same problem we just fixed.” TLC shared the clip on Instagram and wrote, “A road accident forces the #My600lbLife crew to break their cardinal rule 😱 Don’t miss a new episode Wednesday at 8:00 PM.”
