Brooke Shields and Rowan Henchy, 21, Get Matching Arm Tattoos for the New Year: 'Mother-Daughter Bonding'

Brooke Shields and her daughter Rowan Henchy have an enduring relationship.

The mother-daughter duo kicked off their year by shopping for matching ink together at New York’s East Side Ink tattoo parlor.

On Jan. 4, Rowan, who is Shields’ oldest daughter with husband Chris Henchy, took to her Instagram Stories with a photo of their new ink on their forearms that reads “and fun,” a phrase she scripted herself.

“A mother-daughter bond,” Rowan, 21, captioned the post, which her model mom reposted with the caption: “Another tattoo to match my bum.”

Tattoo artist Matt Gutierrez shared behind-the-scenes photos of the two. His carousel includes close-up photos of their tattoos and a photo Blue lagoon the star lies down seemingly after getting inked, Rowan smiling right next to her.

In the caption of his post, Gutierrez admitted that he “didn’t recognize” Shields and Rowan when they first came to their appointment. He added that he realized who his clients were only after he finished the job.

“Sometimes it’s not important to recognize a character, but to know a person. Today I had the opportunity to meet both of them (they are a good team). Thank you for your patience, trust, laughter, confidence and peace,” he wrote.

He added: “I will remember their tattooing, the pain of applying the stencil a thousand times, some of the most difficult handwriting (by Rowan) and a photograph that is very important to me as a person and a professional — and to my family even more (they look so diva).”

Shields and Rowan already have the same ladybug tattoos, which they got in June 2021 at the latter’s high school graduation. They visited Stefano’s Tattoo Studio in Williamsburg, Brooklyn to get their stylish designs, which Shields got on her wrist, while Rowan got his on her ankle.

“A special graduation present and memory with my girlfriend. So proud of you, love you more than words can say,” Shields wrote on Instagram.

Founder of Commence i Mother of the Bride star also has tattoos of younger daughter Grier, who she also shares with Henchy.

In May 2024, they were tattooed together by Scoot Campbell before Grier, 18, left to study at Wake Forest University in North Carolina, where Rowan also goes to school.

“When she was little, she would always just wear my shoes,” Shields said of her youngest. “And the whole foot would fit in the toe area of ​​my shoes. Yes, and [she’d] go into my closet and come out and eat breakfast in her diaper and high heels.”

“And it was the sweetest thing to see this baby in diapers or naked signing the song,” added the proud mom. “And so, when we were looking, she found this picture of a woman’s high heel, where you can recognize her mother’s [foot] filled the whole shoe. And then heel to toe, the kid is in the shoe. But the foot only goes forward, and there is a big gap at the back.”
