Brooke Shields’ Daughter Grier Rewears Her 17-Year-Old Gown on Red Carpet — See Their Twinning Moment!

Like a mother like a daughter.

Again, one of Brooke Shields’ daughters stepped out at the event in a glamorous look that she pulled from her model mom’s closet. This time it was 17-year-old Grier Hammond Henchy in a disguised dress of her own age.

On Sunday night’s CNN Heroes: An All-Star Tribute in New York, Grier rocked a strapless black Richard Tyler gown — the exact same one her mom wore to the 2006 Carousel of Hope Ball in Beverly Hills, California, six months after that she gave birth to a daughter.

The two styled the dress slightly differently, with Grier opting for a more modern look with her hair down and slicked back, while Shields, 58, wore her current hair up. She also carried a 2000s black micro purse to the event.

Grier and her older sister Rowan Francis Henchy, 20, who Shields shares with husband Chris Henchy, are both known to shop their mom’s closet in style.

In September, Grier wore one of her mom’s vintage Badgley Mischka dresses for a night out. Grier dazzled in the ensemble as she posed for photos at the premiere of her mother’s Bird Hand in Wine at Café Carlyle (named, fittingly, “Previously Owned by Brooke Shields”). The dress with a square neckline had several sparkling sequins.

Shields originally wore it 22 years ago during Marshall Field’s Fash Bash at the Chicago Theater in Chicago. She was photographed at the event posing with other Fash Bash models in the dress on stage, and they even recreated the cover of the Hollywood Issue vanity fair recorded that year.

But like every other mom in the world, Shields has passed down her favorite pieces to her daughters for special occasions that they are not red carpets — including Rowan’s 2021 prom.

For the evening, Rowan wore her mother’s red Golden Globes dress from 1998, which the actress shared on Instagram.

“I thought it was a special night when I was nominated for a Golden Globe and wore this dress in 1998, but nothing could have prepared me for seeing my daughter wear it to her prom,” Shields wrote in an Instagram caption at the time. “Proud mom!”

Celebrity moms and daughters who share clothes

The three share a special bond when it comes to fashion, Shields told PEOPLE in 2022.

“There’s a certain … youthful feel that they helped me bring to the pieces, not to be younger, but to enjoy the freshness of it,” she shared of what she’s learned from her kids when it comes to style. – They understand fashion differently.

“[My daughters] wears my clothes a lot. So whenever they’re wearing something of mine, that’s validation for me,” Shields added. “So what [Rowan] gravitates toward [are] my very functional bags and belts and things like that. [Grier] gravitates towards zero function, everything in fashion.”
