Camila Cabello Swaps Platinum Blonde Hair for Ultra-Dark Brunette Locks for Sultry 2024 MTV VMAs Look

Camila Cabello’s MTV VMAs 2024 ensemble will make you say “I Luv It.”

The pop star, 27, surprised fans on 9/11 when she appeared with brown hair after going blonde on 9/10. In addition to her long brown locks, Cabello showed off her style in a vampy black lace dress with a sheer draped black lace veil on top of her head. She wore layered necklaces with crosses and multiple vampire gems.

This year marks the return of the VMAs for Cabello, who was last nominated in 2022 for the camera in her “Bam Bam” music video. She’s also returning to the VMA stage to perform this year, after last performing in 2021 when she headlined the show with a spicy rendition of her summer nomination song, “Don’t Go Yet.”

In 2024, the singer was nominated in two categories: best pop — along with Dua Lipa, Olivia Rodrigo, Sabrina Carpenter, Tate McRae and Taylor Swift — and best popular video for “I Luv It.”

Cabello appeared at the VMAs just months after wearing a cool statement piece at the Met Gala in May. Then the “He Knows” singer brought a block of ice carved into the shape of a purse with a bronze rose inside.

The one-of-a-kind piece was rumored to cost $25,000, which Cabello clarified on the June episode The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.

By the way, there was a rumor that your purse was $25,000 or something like that, said show host Jimmy Fallon.

“I saw this TikTok that had a bunch of comments and likes that were like, ‘Camila Cabello is getting fired for spending $25,000 on this ice pack,'” Cabello replied. “I said ‘Guys, it’s water, frozen. You can make it at home! Whatever the water costs plus the rose we got from Etsy.’ ”

The 2024 MTV Video Music Awards will air live on Wednesday, September 11 at 8:00 PM ET/PT.
