Camila Mendes is changing her look!
On Sunday, November 10, the actress debuted a shocking hair transformation that fans are comparing her to Riverdale actress Madelaine Petsch.
“Just a newly minted redhead with a delayed flight and an empty bathroom to myself,” Mendes, 30, wrote on an Instagram carousel showing off her new color. She also tagged her hair colorist, Matt Reza.
In the photos, the star, who usually has dark brunette locks, poses in an airport bathroom, with her now copper hair parted in the middle and styled in loose waves. Mendes also wears a taupe pullover and matching sweatpants with a khaki balloon over the top.

The new look quickly prompted fans to draw comparisons to Petsch’s signature hair color.
“I seriously need to know that was Madlaine’s reaction to this,” one user commented on Mendes’ post.
“embracing that cheryl blossom vibe!” said the other, referring to Petch Riverdale character.

A third joked: “If Cheryl had seen this she would have said- ‘Here, I invented red, I’m RED’ ❤️😭”
Mendes, who played Veronica Lodge Riverdalestarred in the CW adaptation of Archie Comics alongside Petsch, 30, from 2017 to 2023. The cast also includes Lili Reinhart as Betty Cooper, Cole Sprouse as Jughead and KJ Apa as Archie Andrews.

Fans also pointed out that Mendes’ redheaded transformation could be for her upcoming role as Teela in the Masters of the universe. Per Diversitythe action adaptation of the superhero franchise is produced by Amazon MGM Studios and Mattel Films, and is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on June 5, 2026.

Nicholas Galitzine is set to play the central character and lover of Teela, He-Man. Alison Brie rounds out the cast as supervillain Evil-Lyn.
The official synopsis explains that the film follows 10-year-old Prince Adam who has crashed on Earth in a spaceship and been separated from his magical sword of power.
“After finding him nearly two decades later,” the synopsis reads, “Prince Adam is sent back across space to defend his home planet from the evil forces of Skeletor. But to defeat such a powerful villain, Prince Adam will first have to uncover the mysteries of his past and become He-Man: the most powerful man in the universe!”
