Cardi B Says She'll Do a Spanish-Language Project After Sophomore Album 

Cardi B already has plans for her third album.

The Grammy winner, 31, told fans on June 24 that she knows what she’ll do for her third album following the release of her long-awaited sophomore LP, which has yet to be released.

The rapper shared an Instagram Story on Sunday, June 23, in which she sang “Put Em in the Fridge” alongside her Peso Plum collaboration. In Story, she asked her followers if they wanted an album from her in Spanish. Nearly 480,000 people voted, and 79% of those votes were in favor of the option — her outpouring of support included more than 380,120 people who voted yes.

Then on Monday, she reposted the poll to her Stories and wrote: “OK AFTER MY ENGLISH ALBUM.”

While fans can hope her third project will be in Spanish, they’ve been eagerly awaiting the follow-up to her Grammy-winning 2018 debut. Violation of privacy.

Since her debut, the rapper has dropped several chart-topping singles and numerous collaborations since then, but remains tight-lipped about what’s to come from her sophomore album.

More recently, in May, she shared on Xu (formerly known as Twitter) that although she had previously shared, she would be releasing an album in 2024, which is no longer happening.

She wrote: “anyway NO album this year, I don’t care, I’m taking it easy this year.. I’m giving up on these features I’ve already committed to, traveling and enjoying my summer.”

Prior to the May announcement, she explained in March via her Instagram Stories that she had “100” unreleased songs she was working on for her second album. “I promise you all this year, I won’t let my angst, I won’t let what the haters say, I won’t let what the fans say [stop me],” she said. “If I make a song, I’m just going to fucking put it out there.”

“Well, I have no choice because I’m giving up the album this year,” she added.

Earlier in the month, she released a solo single titled “Like What (Freestyle),” and followed it up on March 15 with her second single of the year, “Enough (Miami). Two issues followed her September 2023 cover announcement Vogue México y Latinoaméricathat they will no longer “release collaborations”, and only solo singles.
