Carey Hart Jokes He's 'a Total Grinch' During the Holidays But Says Wife Pink Is 'the Most Christmas Happy Jew' (Exclusive)

Carey Hart admits how she really feels about the holidays.

The former motocross racer, 49, spoke to PEOPLE about his plans for the November holidays. While he admits it’s not his favorite season, Hart says Pink and their two children help him get in the spirit.

“I’m a total Grinch,” he laughs. “The kids brought me around, and as my wife likes to say, she’s the happiest Jewish woman you’ll ever meet. Children have changed my temperature, so I just enjoy spending time with my family.”

“I’ve come up with Christmas customs and I’m looking forward to it this year,” he adds.

Hart also talks about how Pink reacted to his involvement in the upcoming season Special forces: the toughest test in the world, which premieres in January. He says that the 45-year-old singer has gotten used to his antics by now.

“My wife always says, ‘You’re an idiot,'” he jokes. “I hear that from her quite often!”

“I do a lot of stupid shit though,” he continues, saying that she still supported his decision to join the competition show. “I’m just pretty relaxed and still even pushing 50. So she said, ‘You’re an idiot, but you’re going to do what you’re going to do and go for it.'”

“Honestly, it wasn’t a quick yes for me,” he says. “I watched those two seasons a few times, really trying to analyze what I was going to face. My wife ran it, my kids ran it, and it was a slow warm-up for me. But when I joined, I was totally committed.”

In 2021, the Grammy winner explained how her relationship with Hart has evolved over the years in an exclusive interview with PEOPLE.

“We really grew up together,” she said. “When you first get together, you look at that person as your whole world. One person can’t be your whole world. You have to have your own passions, your friends, your own time. I used to be very needy. Now we expect less from each other others, and that allows us to somehow give each other more.”
