Carly Pearce makes it clear that “disrespect” is not welcome at her concerts.
The Grammy-winning country star, 34, briefly paused her set at We Fest in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota on Friday, August 2 to remove a patron from her performance, before revealing that the visitor was “mean” and treated her with “disrespect.”
In a video shared on X (formerly Twitter) and recorded by local radio host Ian Godfrey, Pearce could be seen pointing at an unnamed man in the crowd as she spoke into her microphone. “Somebody get him out of here. I don’t want him in my play,” Pearce said. – Get out of my play.
The camera then panned to the man being escorted by security, as other members of the crowd cheered on Pearce’s handling of the situation. “If you’re going to be an ass—, then you’re going to have to tell me and get the— off my show,” she continued. “I don’t have time for kites. I’ll see you later.”

In several clips recorded by fans on TikTok, Pearce later shared that her father had been watching the show and that she thought she was “going to have a heart attack” after the call. She also revealed what happened to the audience, adding: “This is the first time I’ve kicked someone out of one of my shows, but if you’re going to be so mean and disrespect me, you’re not welcome.”
While it’s unclear exactly what the man said prompted his removal from the show, Godfrey wrote in a subsequent post, citing security, that when Pearce told the crowd she “wanted to tell you something about me,” he yelled “no one care.”

Pearce’s decision to stand up to her prankster comes as other big names in music, including Adele, Chris Stapleton, Bebe Rexha, Kane Brown and more, have called out or removed disruptive audience members from their shows over the past year.
After bumping into a rude festival-goer, Pearce will bring her act to unhindered fans starting in October, when she will headline hummingbird World tour.
Announced on Monday, August 5, Pearce’s upcoming concert series, named after and in support of her fourth LP, will feature a series of fall dates, as well as additional shows in Europe and elsewhere in the US in late winter and spring.

Headliners include Karley Scott Collins, Matt Lang, Wade Bowen and Carter Faith, and the North American dates will be available for purchase starting Friday, August 9.

Speaking to PEOPLE about the album, released June 7, Pearce revealed the material has been labeled “the proudest album I’ve been on, hands down.”
“Hummingbirds are a sign that the healing process can begin and happiness is on the way,” Pearce said of the title. “For me, that was pretty much this whole album. It has been my healing journey, and it has been very messy at times. Even in songs that are sad, there’s an underlying realization that there’s a reason you’re hurting, and it’s for something bigger. I don’t think I was there [previous album] 29.”
