CAT 2023 Exam Analysis Slot 3: The CAT 2023 exam was conducted by IIM Lucknow on November 26 at designated CAT exam centers spread across around 155 cities. The exam will be held in three sessions.
CAT 2023 Slot 3 was held from 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM and more than one Lakh candidates appeared for the exam. In this article we will discuss CAT 2023 shift 3 analysis based on overall difficulty level, examinees, good attempts and types of questions asked from different topics.
According to the first answer, the overall exam in Part 3 was moderate to difficult and some questions asked in the exam were long and tricky.
CAT 2023 Slot 3 Analysis – Section wise
After the initial reactions, let’s go to the detailed analysis of the CAT 2023 Slot 3 exam by sections. Based on student reactions and expert insights, the Slot 3 exam had a moderate to difficult level of difficulty. In terms of sectional analysis, VARC was relatively easy, while quantitative ability and DILR were moderate to difficult.
CAT 2023 Slot 3 VARC analysis
The Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension (VARC) section contains 24 questions based on Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension. As in the previous year, this time too 8 questions came from Verbal Ability (VR) and 16 questions from Reading Comprehension (RC).
The VARC part of the CAT 2023 Slot 3 exam was relatively easier compared to the previous year. With a total of 24 questions, most students managed this section quite easily. Reading comprehension consisted of 4 passages with 4 questions each.
CAT 2023 Slot 3 DILR Analysis
This section contains 20 questions on Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning. DILR stock was moderate to heavy this time. Some students faced difficulties in solving the questions and stated that this section was long. The section consisted of 2 sets of 4 questions each and 2 sets of 6 questions each.
CAT 2023 Slot 3 QA Analysis
The Quantitative Aptitude (QA) section contains 22 questions. Overall, many students find Quant moderately difficult with many questions being asked from arithmetic components. Some of the questions asked in this section were tricky.
CAT 2021 Exam – Rank 3: Number of Good Attempts
According to examinee feedback and expert analysis, total number of good attempts for decent score and 99+ percentile score on 48 to 55 attempts out of total 66 questions with 10% accuracy. In terms of good attempts per section; for VARC, which was a relatively easy section, attempting 18 to 20 questions should make you feel comfortable. In DILR, which was quite tricky, the number of good attempts would be around 15 to 17 out of a total of 20. While in the QA section, a good attempt would shift to 15 to 18 questions.
