Bryce Dallas Howard has an impressive list of people in his corner.
Raised by legendary actor and director Ron Howard and writer mother Cheryl, Bryce now counts legendary supermodel Claudia Schiffer as her fashion fairy godmother.
Bryce (42) and Schiffer (53) worked together on the action thriller Argyll (out now), with Bryce as a shy spy novelist and Schiffer executive producing. Bryce tells PEOPLE in this week’s issue that the model was “so, so, so involved in the costumes, hair and makeup,” which made the actress feel more comfortable approaching her when it came to her off-camera fashion questions.

“I’ve learned so much from her, to the point that somehow I won’t wear something without sending her a picture,” she told PEOPLE exclusively. “I’m like, ‘I can’t believe I’m taking advantage of Claudia Schiffer on speed dial and sending her pictures of everything I’m trying on for [press] tour.'”
Bryce calls Schiffer’s fashion taste “impeccable” and says being on set helped her find the right tone for her character when it came to her costumes. With a character that tends toward more comfortable clothes—Elly is “introverted and likes to stay at home,” says Bryce—Schiffer still wanted her to feel stylish.
“Everything was chic and I learned so much,” Bryce says of working with Schiffer. “I learned so much just from picking her head over fashion all the time.”

Schiffer sure knows a thing or two about fashion. The supermodel’s resume is as long as she is tall, and she once again proved her tailoring skills at the recent world premiere of the film Argyll.
Not only did she show up with her cat, Chip, in a cute little bubble backpack (as a nod to Bryce Argyll character) on the red carpet, but she wore a striking metallic Versace dress that was almost identical to the one she wore on the catwalk at the house’s show last September (both in an argyle print, of course).
“This dress is an alternate version of the design that Claudia wore in my Spring/Summer ’24 show and is made of checkered metallic mesh with crystals, beading and baroque lace embroidery,” said Donatella Versace, the designer behind the dress at Instagram.

IN Argyll, Bryce plays a reclusive spy novelist suddenly thrust into the kind of underground crime syndicate she envisioned in her novels. “It’s a new kind of character” for the actress, she tells PEOPLE, “and probably the closest to me as a person I’ve played before.”
The role, he says, fit like a glove. “This movie is so much about her connecting with her power and her connecting with feeling empowered and feeling brave and overcoming her anxiety and coming out. For me, making this film was very empowering.”
And Bryce’s mother, Cheryl, she adds, partly inspired her daughter to get involved Argyll. “My mum is a novelist and her imagination is epic – and she wants nothing to do with anything social,” he says.
