What did Chad Brown’s lawyer have to say?

Brown was charged with felony obstruction of breathing after he was accused of throwing a woman down the stairs and choking her. In New York State, this is classified as a Class A misdemeanor. Additionally, the accused could face a $1,000 fine and a year in jail as a maximum penalty. An individual’s sentence can be reduced to three years of probation without imprisonment. Chad Brown’s attorney, Joseph Gerstenzang, argued in court that the horse trainer simply attacked the lady in self-defense. He said the lady broke into his house on Doten Avenue while Brown was asleep.

According to Gerstenzang:

“The wrong person has been arrested here.” It was a home invasion. She broke into my client’s house. (She) was actually the culprit. She came in the middle of the night, forcibly woke him up and attacked him. These allegations allegedly occurred when he was defending his girlfriend and himself.”

Judge Francine Vero “this court is not in the business of accusing victims of domestic violence”.

According to WNYT-TV (NBC station) news anchor Subrina Dhamma, the presiding judge of this court, Francine Vero, refused to accept it and said:

“This court is not in the business of charging victims of domestic abuse.”

After Chad Brown’s tip pushed her, she corrected herself and called the lady an “alleged victim.”

According to arrest records, what could have sparked the alleged altercation?

According to arrest paperwork, the lady claimed she was in an on-again, off-again relationship with Chad Brown. The lady, who is also a horse trainer, said she went to the 43-year-old after repeatedly being unable to contact him. She discovered Chad Brown with another lady after entering the house with a spare key she had in her hands. This seems to have made things difficult for the horse trainer. Brown, according to the unnamed woman, pushed her down the stairs and tried to choke her before pushing her out the door.
