Chase Chrisley was arrested.
The Growing up Chrisley The alum, 28, was taken into custody on Thursday, January 9 in Atlanta, Georgia, on a charge of simple criminal damage. According to police records reviewed by PEOPLE, Chrisley was arrested and released on $10,000 bail for the incident that happened days before Jan. 6.
In a police report obtained by PEOPLE, officers from the Atlanta Police Department responded to a call at a local sports bar, Twin Peaks, on Jan. 6, in which the general manager “identified” Chrisley as the person who assaulted him. The report said Chrisley was “no longer involved [the] scene” upon the arrival of the policemen.
Chrisley allegedly “became very intoxicated” at the bar and “began to act very disrespectfully and belligerently,” according to the report. When the manager asked him “multiple times” to leave, Chrisley allegedly refused and later “slapped him twice.” TMZ first broke the news.
In a statement shared with PEOPLE, his attorneys Drew Findling, Marissa Goldberg and Zack Findling of the Findling Law Firm said “this incident is completely overblown.”
“Chase Chrisley did the right thing that night when he called a driver to take him home. He didn’t attack anyone,” his lawyers argued. “Chase was trying to close his account and leave. We will investigate the situation independently.”

Chase is not the first Chrisley to be arrested in jail. His oldest brother, Kyle, has faced multiple arrests over the years, most recently in September 2024 when he was charged with aggravated assault and resisting arrest.
Currently, their parents, Todd and Julie, are currently serving multi-year sentences for bank fraud and tax evasion. Julie is scheduled to be released from the Federal Medical Center in Lexington in March 2028, while Todd will not be released from the Pensacola Federal Prison Camp until May 2032.
After checking into prison in January 2023, Chase’s 27-year-old sister Savannah is taking care of their younger siblings, Chloe, 11, and Grayson, 18. Chase and Savannah have also continued to help their parents amid their incarceration.
“Me and Chase come to them every day and I’m the one [of my siblings] who is in charge of all their legal matters,” Savannah told PEOPLE in October 2023. “I talk to the lawyers every day. I make sure they have what they need while they’re in prison and I show up for them.”

Amid his parents’ incarceration, Chase also announced his split from ex-fiancée Emily Medders in July 2023 — less than a year after their October 2022 engagement.
His rep, Adam Ambrose, issued a statement exclusively to PEOPLE at the time: “The couple has decided to go their separate ways. Chase has nothing but love and respect for Emmy and wishes her well. Unfortunately, things didn’t work out, and they’re both moving on with their lives .”
Then the tumultuous times continued in December 2024, when Chase lost his beloved French bulldog Lilo.
“Lilo, you were the best dog I could ever wish for, you saved me when nothing else could! I will love you forever! Rest in peace my sweet angel,” he wrote in a heartfelt Instagram post, which included several Lilo’s photo.
He is currently in a relationship with Jodi Laine Fournerat.
