Tammy Slaton’s Sister Shares Photos from When She Was in Rehab Before Her 500-Lb. Weight Loss: ‘We Are So Proud’

Tammy Slaton gets sweet greetings from her sister.

On January 9, 1000 lbs. Sisters the star’s older sister Amanda Halterman, 44, posted throwback photos on Instagram, looking back on their Facetime calls while Slaton, 38, was in rehab trying to lose weight.

“Flashback to FaceTime days of rehab. So proud of you sis,” Halterman captioned the post tagging their fellow siblings Amy Slaton and Chris Combs. “Keep pushing forward to achieve your goals, you’ve got this and we’ve got you!”

Slaton also shared the post on her own Instagram page. In the comments section, fans of the couple praised Halterman’s support and how Slaton looks different now that he’s lost 500 pounds.

“She was amazing!!!! But also the whole family, there is a lot to be proud of ❤️”, one follower wrote.

Another user commented: “Tammy looks like a completely different person! I’m sure it feels as good as it looks. You were all fantastic! You are so lucky to have each other and support.”

Slaton was previously admitted to the Windsor Lane Rehabilitation Center in Gibsonburg, Ohio, where she focused on her weight loss journey in hopes of getting approved for bariatric surgery.

She stayed at the facility for 14 months and qualified for weight loss surgery in 2022.

After returning home and continuing her weight loss journey on her own, Slaton revealed in August 2024 that she had lost 500 pounds. At the time, she posted a TikTok video dancing to Dylan Scott’s “Livin’ My Best Life,” sharing a motivational message about her experience.

“I know I can’t dance. I’m just up here having fun trying to make everyone smile and pass it around and spread the word that anything is possible,” she captioned the video. “You are strong. you are beautiful, you are love. You are enough. Never forget that.”

In October 2024, during the episode 1000 lbs. SistersSlaton had a follow-up examination with her surgeon dr. Eric Smith along with his siblings.

Smith gave her a goal to lose 100 pounds. between their visits and the reality stars, she exceeded his expectations. She weighed 303.8 lbs, which Smith said was “unbelievable.”

“I surpassed the goal of dr. Smitha, his goal, all goals!” Tammy brags in the video. “I’m so ready for skinning!”
