Chelsea Houska's 4 Kids: All About Aubree, Watson, Layne and Walker

Chelsea Houska may have started out as a single mother to daughter Aubree Teenage mom 2but the reality star has since expanded her family with husband Cole DeBoer to three more children: Watson, Layne and Walker.

The mother of four made her MTV debut in 2009 16 and pregnant, where she welcomed her eldest daughter with ex-boyfriend Adam Lind. She joined Teenage mom 2 cast when the series first aired in 2011, chronicling her custody battles with Lind and her meeting — and falling in love with — DeBoer.

After 11 years of regular guest appearances in hit MTV series, Houska announced her exit via Instagram in 2020. She later revealed that her children’s privacy was a big factor in the decision, and not something she’d be happy to put in the spotlight again.

“I would certainly never go back to anything involving my children’s personal lives,” she told E! News. “I don’t think I could do that. If something carefree and fun happened, I don’t think I would say no… I just feel like our family has become so close and we have a lot of land to explore.”

In 2023, that easy opportunity came when Houska and DeBoer debuted their own HGTV renovation show, Down Home Fab. The show follows the parents as they launch their new design business and keep up with their growing family.

Aubree Skye Lind DeBoer, 14

Aubree Skye Lind DeBoer was born in South Dakota on September 7, 2009 — Houska’s first day as a high school senior. Lind may be her biological father, but DeBoer took an active role in her upbringing after meeting Houska in 2014 when Aubree was 5 years old.

Much of her early childhood was caught on camera while at MTV, including her expressing a desire to share the same last name as her younger brother, Watson. After DeBoer and Houska held their second wedding in 2017, they did just that.

Since so many people have followed Aubree’s story from the beginning, Houska told E! News in 2023 that much Teenage mom 2 viewers were shocked to see that she was now a teenager. And when it comes to teenagers, her mom thinks she’s the coolest.

“She was always so confident in who she was,” Houska told PEOPLE after revealing she named her new home decor line Aubree Says, after her oldest child. “If Aubree says it’s cool, it’s cool.”

Although Aubree is not yet allowed on social media, she has been seen on her mom’s Instagram with blonde hair and a style that Houska describes as “e-girl.” She is also reportedly a huge fan of Harry Styles.

Watson Cole DeBoer, 7

On January 25, 2017, Houska and DeBoer welcomed their first child together, a son, Watson Cole. “Welcome to the world sweet baby boy,” she captioned the black-and-white Instagram photo, which only shows a close-up of the newborn’s tiny hands.

According to Refinery29, the couple announced in a since-deleted blog post that they were expecting a new child in July 2016. “We are beyond excited for this journey and can’t wait to share it with all of you,” Houska wrote. “Big sister Aubree is also very excited and it’s no secret that she’s hoping for a girl…”

Houska and DeBoer married in October 2016, and Watson came along a few months later. In another blog post that has since been deleted, Houska described DeBoer as a proud dad. “He’s already planning his future hunting and fishing, haha!” she wrote.

On her Instagram, Houska often describes her son as a sweet kid who loves to play soccer and celebrates his birthday with his youngest sister, Walker June. “Walker reminds me so much of Watson when he was little so it makes sense they were born on the same day,” she wrote in an Instagram caption celebrating their shared birthday. “They are both attentive, quiet (most of the time) and so damn smart!”

Watson also likes to spend time with her dad. In 2022, DeBoer posted a TikTok of his son practicing his golf swing and shared a video on Instagram in 2021 of him trying to establish an exercise regimen: DeBoer wrote, “He said, ‘Dad, you go feed the animals and I’m going to work out.'” ”

Houska’s second daughter, Layne Ettie DeBoer was born on August 29, 2018 — Houska’s 27th birthday. The new addition to the DeBoer clan is documented at Teenage mom 2 and showed the reality star’s emotional reaction when she went into labor and realized that she and her daughter would share the same birthday.

“Did you do that on purpose so I could have her for my birthday?” she asked DeBoer. He nodded and answered: “Yes! It’s a nice gift… He’ll be as amazing as you are.”

In 2019, Houska for E! News that Layne has adopted some of her husband’s personality traits. “I feel like [baby Layne] is like Cole,” she said. “She’s very relaxed. She’s light, she’s smiling, she’s cold, very cold.”

While she may be laid back, Layne seems to have gotten into her mess. On her Instagram, Houska describes her daughter as a funny “wild child” who “loves back tickling, sushi and animals.” One Instagram post from 2023 included a zoomed-in video of Layne’s face covered in some sort of pink cloth.

DeBoer seems to have foreseen the similarities between Layne and Houska. In a 2022 Instagram post celebrating their joint birthdays, he called Layne Houska a “clone” and said she was “so amazing just like her beautiful mom.”

Walker June DeBoer was born on the same day as her older brother Watson: January 25, 2021. Houska announced the birth via Instagram and said Walker “surprised” the family with the due date. Her husband said on his account that his daughter immediately stole his heart.

“I always wanted to be a father. I never would have guessed that I would be blessed with 4 beautiful children,” DeBoer wrote in another Instagram post. “Blessed with our new baby girl. She has a daddy who will love her with all his heart and then some.”

Houska shared similar sentiments on her own Instagram following Walker’s birth. “What a life we’ve built,” she wrote alongside a hospital selfie with her newborn and her husband.

On the mother-of-four’s Instagram page, Walker is often seen helping out in the family’s garden, hanging out with their farm animals and trying to keep up with her older siblings. Whether it’s a shared birthday or not, Houska says her youngest is very much like his older brother.

“These two share a birthday, have the same humble personalities and look like little twins,” she wrote in an Instagram post celebrating Watson’s fifth birthday and Walker’s first. “I love them SO MUCH.”
