Chevy Chase is going to be a grandfather!

It’s on Saturday Christmas vacation star (80) announced in a post on Instagram that his daughter Emily Chase is expecting a baby.

“I can’t wait to become a grandfather!” the comedy star wrote alongside a photo of herself, her daughter, 36, and her partner Alex Baglieri. “Congratulations to my daughter @em_chases and @alex.baglieri ❤️.”

Fans were quick to express their excitement, with many taking to the comments section to offer their well wishes.

“Congratulations!! Best grandpa ever!!!!” wrote one commenter under the photo.

“I’m voting for Rusty if it’s a boy,” joked another, referring to Chevy’s fictional son in the National Lampoon’s movie franchise.

Although the Chase family is secretive about many other details of his personal life, the actor and comedian has always been honest about his support for his three daughters, who he shares with his third and current wife, Jayni.

Chevy and Jayni tied the knot in June 1982 after dating for almost two years. In the decades since their wedding, the couple have had their daughters – Cydney, Caley and Emily – and Jayni has become stepmother to Chevy’s son, Bryan Perkins, from a previous relationship.

Emily has yet to share the news herself, but last week she posted a photo on Instagram of her, her sisters and parents smiling from ear to ear.

Earlier this month, Chevy, his wife and all three of their daughters opened up Bedford & New Canaan Magazine about parenting and how important their family is to each other.
