Chris Evans is back on Instagram and he’s brought some adorable four-legged friends with him.
After a six-month hiatus, The the Avengers star, 42, posted a video at New York’s Animal Haven animal shelter, highlighting the many pets waiting to be adopted at the care center.
“Hello everyone! I’m back :),” Evans wrote alongside his Reel. “I’m thankful for a LOT of things this year, but dogs are always high on the list.”
“There are literally thousands of dogs waiting to be adopted across the country,” he said Witty the actor explained in the video. “Just like my dog, Dodger.”
With the help of dog food brand Jinx, Evans treated the puppies to snacks and announced an exciting initiative. “For every dog we meet today that gets adopted, Jinx will donate a year’s worth of dog food,” said Evans, who is an investor and spokesperson for the company.
The Reel collected some particularly precious moments of the 2022 SEXIEST Man Alive hanging out with his furry friends on the shelter floor. He also introduced Animal Haven’s CEO, Tiffany, who highlighted the group’s mission to give its dogs “the best experience they can have.”
In his caption, Evans confirmed that shelters have already opened their doors to some pups in need: “So glad to hear these dogs are adopted and we’ve been able to place them with @thinkjinx food and treats for a year,”, he wrote, finishing with a holiday wish, “Happy Thanksgiving everyone!”

The famous dog dad is hardly shy about his love for the canine species, especially when it comes to his own companion Dodger. It is known that Evans found his best friend while filming his 2017 movie Gifted, when they were filming the scene in the dog house. He told PEOPLE about their meet-cute just before the premiere of the film.
“I stupidly walked in and thought, ‘Are these acting dogs or are they real adoptable dogs?’ And they sure did, so I was walking up and down the altars and I saw that one character and he didn’t belong there,” The gray man the star remembered.
He continued: “I caught him and he is such a good dog. They took care of him for about 1 year, he acts like a puppy, he has the energy of a puppy, he’s just so sweet, he’s such a good boy. He loves dogs, he loves children, he is full of love.”

Most recently, Evans and Dodger welcomed a new member to their family when the Boston native married Portuguese actress Alba Baptista, 26, last September. Speaking at New York Comic Con 2023, Evans talked a bit about their two “wonderful and beautiful” wedding ceremonies, which took place in Portugal and Cape Cod, Massachusetts.
“Wedding planning is a lot. For those of you who are married, you know it takes a lot out of you,” Evans said during an event in October. “But now that we’re over it, we’re just enjoying life, getting ready for fall, my favorite season. Now we just relax and enjoy life and think.”
