Chris Pratt's 4 Kids: All About Jack, Lyla, Eloise and His Baby on the Way

Chris Pratt is a caring father.

The Jurassic World star became a dad for the first time in 2012 when his then-wife Anna Faris gave birth to their son Jack (11). Following Pratt’s split from Faris, he married Katherine Schwarzenegger in 2019. Just a year after saying “I do,” the couple welcomed daughter Lyla Maria, 4. Not long after, Pratt and Schwarzenegger announced the arrival of their second child together, Eloise Christine , 2. The couple is currently expecting baby number 3.

Pratt says his fatherhood journey has been “really beautiful” so far. Before Eloise was born, Guardians of the Galaxy the star even said he was willing to have “as many as possible [kids] as the man above will provide” — though he has to set that Schwarzenegger plan in motion first.

“We’re going to do it. I’ll probably have to talk to Katherine about it, but my plan is, let’s go,” Pratt shared.

On August 17, 2012, Pratt welcomed his first child with then-wife Anna Faris. The couple named their son Jack after Faris’ father. While Pratt and Faris said they were thrilled with the birth of their “beautiful baby boy,” Jack was born nine weeks premature. Weighs only 3 lbs. and 12 oz., spent his first month in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).

During Jack’s “emotionally draining” hospital stay, Pratt and Faris were told that the child had suffered a “severe brain bleed” and that there was a possibility that he might have developmental disabilities. Pratt says the former couple spent a lot of time praying. After an extended stay in intensive care, Jack was allowed to return home, although he was under close medical supervision for most of his first year of life.

“The day came when I had to take Jack home, and the first few years were filled with doctor’s appointments, five surgeries, physical therapy, lots of laughter — because Jack was and is the cutest cutest thing I could ever imagine.” Faris shared.

By the time Jack turned 2, his health had improved dramatically, leaving only minor problems with his vision and leg muscles. At the time, Pratt told PEOPLE that the boy was “amazing” and had “no fear no matter what.” He also noted that Jack was “very advanced for his age” and already knew “a lot of words, colors, numbers.”

As Jack got older, Pratt and Faris primarily kept him out of the spotlight. After the couple’s split, they don’t often share photos of their son, but he seems to have followed in his parents’ footsteps with his love of movies. By the time he was 8, Pratt said Jack had already seen all of his movies and been on “tons of sets.” He even got a chance to try out some stunts while on set Tomorrow’s war.

“We strapped him in and had him fly around the set… He was fighting some aliens, shooting some lasers from his hand,” Pratt recounted. – He’s having a good time on the set.

Besides being a movie star in training, Pratt says Jack is also a very good big brother to his two younger half-sisters. Although he is almost 10 years older than Lyla and Eloise, Pratt says they share a special bond.

“There is a big age difference… [and] he does a great job, he is so sweet with them. And they love him dearly and miss him when he’s gone,” Pratt explained.

In April 2023, Pratt spoke with PEOPLE at the film’s Los Angeles premiere Movie Super Mario Brose. He discovered that Jack and his friends had a special screening of the film before the official release.

“He’s seen it before and he’s blown away. He loves it,” Pratt said, adding that his son “really went crazy” when he heard his dad’s voice in the animated film.

Just over a year after Pratt and Katherine Schwarzenegger tied the knot, he became a dad for the second time when the couple welcomed their daughter, Lyla Maria Schwarzenegger Pratt, on August 6, 2020. The girl’s name seemingly included a nod to Schwarzenegger’s mother, Maria Shriver.

“We are very excited to announce the birth of our daughter, Lyla Maria Schwarzenegger Pratt. We couldn’t be happier and feel extremely blessed! Love, Katherine and Chris,” they wrote in the sweet post.

Early on, Pratt and Schwarzenegger decided to keep their daughter out of the spotlight in order to give her as normal an upbringing as possible. As part of this, the couple said they will keep Lyla’s face out of photos shared online. Schwarzenegger explained that her parents gave her the same privacy when she was growing up, and that it was something she greatly valued.

“We’ve been allowed to be our own people and have our own identity and kind of choose to go into whatever form of publicity we want when we feel comfortable… That’s something that’s very important to my husband and I to give to our children and being able to have that privacy and not necessarily show a lot of them on social media,” Schwarzenegger shared on Today show.

Despite his decision to refrain from revealing too much about their daughter, Schwarzenegger couldn’t help but open up about life with Lyla, telling PEOPLE that she’s “the best baby.” She added that the baby was “so happy and so smiling” – and that it had changed her life in “the best possible way”.

In the run-up to Lyla’s first birthday, Pratt said he made sure he and his daughter had “special time” every day. He explained that the duo spent time every morning on the balcony in front of their outdoor fireplace. At the time, he said Lyla was still “a wriggling worm,” but he realized he could soothe her by brushing her hair.

That November, Pratt shared an Instagram tribute to Schwarzenegger and their family. In the post, he thanked Schwarzenegger for giving him a “wonderful healthy daughter” – a comment many fans found insensitive considering his son Jack was born prematurely and had health issues. Looking back, Pratt says he “cried” over the reaction and was extremely “bothered” by the situation.

“A bunch of articles came out saying, ‘That’s so creepy. I can’t believe Chris Pratt would thank her for healthy daughter when his first child was born prematurely. That is such a reproach to his ex-wife.’ I said, That’s fucking. My son will read it one day. He is 9 years old. And it’s set in digital stone. It really freaked me out, man. I cried about it. I thought, I hate that these blessings in my life — for people close to me — are a real burden,” Pratt shared with Men’s health while talking about moving on from an uncomfortable situation.

Today Lyla loves horses, baby dolls and her little sister Eloise. Schwarzenegger said Lyla was “the sweetest and most gentle, excited big sister.” And since Lyla has an interest in dolls, Schwarzenegger said bringing Eloise home was like a real-life doll for a young child.

“She loves her and she loves spending time with her, and just to see their relationship already forming is really touching and makes me really excited,” Schwarzenegger said in 2022.

When Lyla turned 4 in August 2024, Pratt shared a photo on Instagram of his daughter sitting on his shoulders. In its caption, she wrote: “Happy 4th birthday to my sweet baby girl. As long as I live my baby you will too!!!”

Pratt became a dad for the third time on May 21, 2022, when Schwarzenegger gave birth to their daughter, Eloise Christina Schwarzenegger Pratt. At the time, the couple didn’t talk much about her birth, but expressed their excitement about the addition to their family.

“We are so excited to announce the birth of our second daughter, Eloise Christine Schwarzenegger Pratt. We feel beyond blessed and grateful,” the parents wrote on social media.

Over Father’s Day weekend, Schwarzenegger shared the first photos of his newborn. In the footage, Eloise could be seen laying on her mum’s chest and lying on her lap while wearing an adorable pair of socks.

Just days later, Pratt gave an insight into his life as a dad of three, saying Eloise was a “chill” baby who spent a lot of days sleeping. But, unfortunately, she didn’t enjoy her sleep that much at night. The actor admitted that he was “working on some caffeine fumes” at the time. Despite the sleepless nights, Pratt said Eloise was “perfect” and “so beautiful.”

Since then, the family has been enjoying time with baby Eloise, and Schwarzenegger shared that the mother-daughter duo spent most of the summer in identical terrycloth outfits. Schwarzenegger later added that Eloise and Lyla got along — and that they already had a similar relationship with her and her younger sister Christina Schwarzenegger.

“It’s really interesting because of course I’m a year and a half older than Christina so I don’t remember everything when she came from the hospital and our dynamic right away. But my mom and dad say it’s very similar to the dynamic between Lyla and Eloise,” she shared with PEOPLE .

In May 2023, Schwarzenegger marked Eloise’s first birthday by sharing a sweet photo on Instagram. In the clip, the mother-daughter duo wore matching pink outfits as Schwarzenegger smiled at her youngest.

“And just like that, he’s 1! What a year and what a blessing,” the proud mom wrote in the description. “My little smiling baby who made me a mom of two girls.”
