Chrishell Stause Returns to Her Soap Roots with 'Glamorous' New Guest Role in Amazon Freevee’s Neighbours

Chrishell Stause is rejoining the soap world!

The Selling Sunset star — who appeared on legendary soap operas like All My Children and Young and restless — is set as a guest Neighborsannounced by Amazon Freevee and Fremantle on May 29.

The actress and reality star, 42, will star in the Daytime Emmy-nominated Australian series as a new character, Yasmine “Yas” Shields, “a glamorous and successful businesswoman looking for an exciting new opportunity,” the streamers said.

She will arrive in Australia in July to begin filming the long-running series that follows the lives of the residents of Ramsay Street in Erinsborough, Australia — a fictional suburb of Melbourne.

In an official statement, Stause said she was “honored and excited to join such a beloved and iconic show!”

“Coming from the world of soap operas in the US, I returned to my first love in the entertainment industry,” she continued. “They pitched me an idea for a character and I was immediately excited to come up with a way to make it happen. Ramsay Street, I’m coming!”

Neighbors‘ Executive producer Jason Herbison also shared an official statement welcoming Stause’s return to her soap opera roots – and revealed that the showrunners made Yas just for the star.

“We are thrilled to welcome Chrishell to the Neighbors cast,” said Herbison. “We created a character especially for her and we can’t wait for her to bring the story to life.”

“And so, as far as I’m concerned, just to make it easier for myself, I would go to my room often and simply, because otherwise, of course, I’m a very sociable person, very happy,” she added. “But it just makes it harder for your brain and body to jump in and out, back and forth.”

Stause also said she had to get back into the swing of using her acting skills, which was like riding a “bicycle” — albeit “a little rusty.”

“Of course, there are certain things that just take a little reminding of your brain,” the realtor told PEOPLE. “As far as just memorizing the lines, I felt a bit rusty at first. I worked in soap operas for 15 years, so before I could almost have a photographic memory. That’s not the case anymore.
