Every family has a picky eater—even Chrissy Teigen.
Speaking exclusively to PEOPLE in partnership with Maison Boursin Cheese, The Cravings cookbook author, 38, reveals who is the pickiest eater in her family — and it’s her 6-year-old son.
“Miles, without a doubt,” she says. “However, he was picky all his life, even when he was a little baby.” Teigen and husband John Legend are also parents to daughters Luna, 8, and Esta, 22 months, and son Wren, 17 months.
“And you learn that it’s the only thing a six-year-old has control over in his life,” Teigen continues. “There’s so much we tell them they have to do, so he’s definitely picked up on the fact that he can control his diet.”

Despite Miley’s pickiness, Teigen says she’s becoming more willing to try new foods. “Instead of pressuring him or making him feel bad about it, we’re just trying to be patient as much as we can.”
“And I’m starting to realize and understand that the more he sees me cooking something, the more willing he is to try it and like it, as opposed to, say, if I order the same thing at a restaurant,” he adds. . “So I’m trying to do a lot more than just see him go through the process and get a lot better.”
Elsewhere in the conversation, Teigen tells PEOPLE about her partnership with Maison Boursin cheese as their host-in-residence during the holiday season, celebrating all the little moments, like spending time with friends and family while cozying up at home.

She calls Maison Boursin “a staple” for entertaining during the holiday season and all the moments in between. “It’s the star of everything. It’s so fun to use. It’s so easy to use. It’s creamy, it’s crumbly, it enhances the flavor of whatever you use it on,” she says.
Teigen also loves the versatility of cheese. “It’s so versatile and you find it’s such a crowd pleaser, which is really what you want when you have so many different types of people in your home.”

“You want to make sure you’re not playing it safe, you want to make sure people come to your house and remember, ‘oh man, I felt like there was no pressure. It was great. I ate food that I loved, but it was still casual and fun and we really got to enjoy the little moments and be together with our family.’ it’s great.”
Teigen thinks making meatloaf boards with Maison Boursin as the “star of the table” is a great way to “chill” with Luna. “Making a beautiful butcher board is like a form of craft and you never know where it’s going to go.”
“Work from the inside out and just come up with something beautiful,” she says.
