Christiane Seidl is a Danish-German actress known for her roles in the television series Boardwalk Empire (2011), the web series Godless (2017) and The Queen’s Gambit (2020). In 2018, she became famous for her performance as an Amy Adams impersonator at the 70th Primetime Primetime Primetime Awards.

Christiane Seidel was born on Sunday, April 3, 1988 (age 33 in 2021) in Wichita Falls, Texas, United States. Soon after her parents met at a party, Christiane’s father, who was in the Navy, was stationed in Texas. In an interview, speaking about her childhood, she said,
My dad flew fighter jets, so I was born in Wichita Falls, Texas. I lived the typical military kid life.”
After living in Texas for a while, her family moved first to Germany and then to Denmark. Christiane had a passion for acting from a young age. Her first role was in elementary school, where she played a woman who took Mary and Jesus in in the German version of The Nativity. In high school, she starred in the play The Rocky Horror Picture Show. After this, she spent a semester at a film school in Cape Town, South Africa. Later, after graduating with a degree in Media and Management, she continued on to a two-year program at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute in New York. Although Christiane was a budding actress in New York, her mother pressured her to return to Germany and pursue a stable career instead of being an actress. In an interview, she said,
My mom would ask me, “When are you coming back? When are you going to have a real job? When are you going to use what you’ve learned?”
Finally, in 2010, Christiane Seidel got her first paid job in the TV series Law & Order: Special Victims Unit and began her acting career. Later, in order to improve her acting skills, she took other acting courses such as Michael Chekhov Technique, Alexander Technique, and trained at Fitzmaurice College.

- Christiana was born with red hair and was often bullied and ridiculed by her classmates. In an interview, she said:
It was definitely not easy. As a child I felt ugly and didn’t want to stand out. I was made fun of and called names.”
- In 2015, she became the Producing Director of the Scandinavian American Theatre Company, which has staged several award-winning Scandinavian plays in the United States, such as Beloved (2004) by renowned Swedish playwright Lisa Langseth, Kinder K by Kristofer Blindheim Grønskag, and many others.

Christian was reportedly spotted walking the Emmys red carpet in a bright red dress with a heart-shaped neckline and cutout shoulders. But Seidel’s dress and makeup didn’t fool anyone. Her scarlet hair looked almost identical to Adams’ signature crimson.
Although the media quickly clarified that the woman in red was not actually Adams, but actress Christiane Seidel, by then Christiane had already gone viral as an Adams impersonator and became one of the most watched moments of the Emmy Awards.
