Christie Brinkley and Chevy Chase are on the road again!
On Monday, August 26, the couple – who tempted fate during a trip to National Lampoon’s Vacation — reunited more than 40 years later in a few photographs. In the pictures that Brinkley (70) shared on a joint Instagram carousel with Chase (80), the former stars are smiling for car selfies.
“Vacation always ends too soon! 🏎️ @chevychase” the supermodel captioned the set of images, plus a video of them smiling while waving at the camera.
Viewers first met the duo in the classic 1983 comedy when Clark Griswold (Chase) and his wife Ellen (Beverly D’Angelo) drove from Illinois to a California amusement park with their two children.
While Ellen slept in the passenger seat, the young and very flirtatious Brinkley became known simply as “The Girl in the Ferrari.”

Things heat up in the film when the two happen to stop at the same destination during their travels, and a brief encounter at a bar leads to Ellen catching her skinny husband taking a dip in the pool with Brinkley’s character.
