Christina Milian Hopes to Find Love at a Pentatonix Concert in Meet Me Next Christmas Trailer (Exclusive)

Christina Milian is desperate for Pentatonix tickets in her new holiday novel.

PEOPLE has the exclusive first trailer for Netflix See you next Christmaswhich begins with Layla (Milian) traveling during the holidays, only to find that all flights have been canceled and delayed.

The tide turns when Layla connects with another stranded passenger, James (Kofi Siriboe). The two reconciled, and James made a romantic proposal: they would meet next Christmas Eve at a Pentatonix concert. Layla agrees, but when the holidays return, she finds that tickets to the sold-out show are nearly impossible to come by.

Layla follows her friend’s suggestion to hire a personal concierge to help her get tickets. Enter Teddy (Devale Ellis), who seems to have the answers to Layla’s every problem and works hard to get her tickets.

Milian told PEOPLE that she got lucky with her collaborators on the Rusty Cundieff-directed project. “Devale and Kofi are two very handsome men, but also two very unique guys. That made the chemistry part easier,” she says.

“Devale is such a funny, genuinely nice guy, a family guy. He’s so enthusiastic and he came in excited. When we auditioned for Teddy, I auditioned with Devale and he just felt like he was the part,” she says. “It had that New York, streetwise, but also quirky side, and it felt like fun.”

“Kofi is also so cute,” she continues. “He’s so handsome and he came so present and ready. I think women are going to be excited to see these men.”

Ellis hopes the love that developed between the cast behind the scenes will reach viewers as they watch Teddy help Layla and fall in love along the way.

“I’m most excited for fans to experience an unexpected adventure filled with all the emotions, and fueled by the perfect Christmas music,” says Ellis. “Holiday movies tend to stick in people’s memories for generations and often become year-round classics. I’m excited for fans to experience their next classic for the first time.”

Milian says the film is “everything I love about seeing two characters in a Christmas rom-com.” A solid bonus? Pentatonix, whose music Milian says “embodies Christmas.”

“One of the biggest highlights for me was just seeing their character and the funny things they do. A lot of their stuff was on point, so it was fun to watch them do their thing.”

Filming the film was also special for Pentatonix, singer Kirstin Maldonado tells PEOPLE. “I’m excited for fans to see us in a different element and hopefully enjoy this movie as much as we do,” she says.
