Christopher Meloni Rocks Biker Look While on SAG-AFTRA Picket Line in N.Y.C

Christopher Meloni made a quick pit stop while picketing with SAG-AFTRA.

On Tuesday, the 62-year-old actor joined the SAG-AFTRA column in New York in a biker-inspired ensemble.

The Law and order: organized crime star joined her fellow union members in a black moto-style leather jacket, with an American flag pin and a blue, red and gray scarf printed with American flags.

He styled his ensemble with navy jeans, a pair of camel brown leather lace-up boots and a black SAG-AFTRA cap. Meloni is seen in protest clothing as he transports his bicycle alongside protesting union members.

How Christopher Meloni and Ellen Burstyn Law and order Family Dynamic Goes Off-Screen: ‘You’re My Mother’

Although fans can’t catch Meloni in the new season Law and order: organized crime Because of the strike, the star recently stated how important friendships with colleagues are to him.

During a conversation with Ellen Burstyn, who plays his mother on screen, for Interview magazineMeloni told the Oscar winner that she became like a mother to him in real life.

“You know what I was thinking about yesterday?” – said the 90-year-old Burstyn. “One day on the set [of Organized Crime] you said, ‘Why are you doing this to me, Dimi?’ It is a line from The exorcist. And I was so amazed because my son says that line to me in real life. When you said that, it was like I was in two realities at once.”

“That’s very funny,” the Law and Order: Special Victims Unit the alum said. “Afterwards I said: “Since I lost my mother a few years ago, you – in my life, in our business – are my mother.”

The actress also shared the ease of their relationship. “It’s like stepping into an old pair of shoes,” she said. “I slipped into your mother.”

Meloni recently told PEOPLE how Lyme disease has directly affected his family. The Global Lyme Alliance’s newest ambassador said: “My family has been affected by this disease in a very dramatic way. It was a whole big learning curve because it took us two years to get the correct diagnoses. It was quite heartbreaking.”

“To witness the ones you love more than anything in the world being mercilessly tortured in front of your eyes … it gets really dark,” Meloni said. “There is no other light that I see, it is the saddest thing you can experience or witness.”
