Christy Turlington is celebrating her youngest child’s latest milestone — and how her life is changing as a result!
On Friday, June 14, the 55-year-old supermodel toasted her son Finn on Instagram in honor of his graduation, in a post where she noted that she, too, is starting a new chapter for herself.
“I’m officially an “empty nester” today!” Turlington began the caption of her post, adding, “How do I feel about this? Ask me in three months, after my kid moves out of our home and into her dorm on the other side of the country.”
“For now, I just want to share how grateful I am. I’m grateful that me and my child have reached this milestone,” she continued.

In the post, Turlington shared a rare photo of her family, featuring her, her 18-year-old son, husband Ed Burns, and their 20-year-old daughter Grace McKenna. She also shared a few pictures of Finn on stage at his graduation ceremony, hanging out with some of his classmates in New York, and some celebratory balloons.
“Every day is a gift, especially when we are in good health and when we feel safe and well supported. I know by now that life and our experiences are fleeting and what really matters is making meaningful connections in this life,” continued Turlington. in her inscription. “I want to thank everyone who has loved and supported my child on this amazing journey so far. You have all made it more fun and rewarding every step of the way.”
She then gave a toast to “everything outside the nest and embracing as much of it as possible from here for as long as possible.”
“Congratulations, Finn & LREI Class of ’24! We’re proud to know you & count you one of our own. #NoFinnNoFun #Chapman28 🧑🎓❤️,” she added, noting that after attending high school in New York City, Finn will use his talents delivered to Chapman University in Orange, California.
Several friends, including Paulina Porizkova and Naomi Campbell, shared congratulations to Finn under his mother’s social media post.
“He’ll be back in no time when the dorm gets suspicious 🤣 #iffydorm,” Helena Christensen joked.

Christy Turlington and Kelly Corrigan gave birth on the Podcast celebrating moms — and Jennifer Garner is the first guest!
Just this month, while attending a New York luncheon for Through Her Lens: The Tribeca CHANEL Women’s Filmmaker Program, Turlington opened up to PEOPLE about the modeling advice she gave her daughter. “I told her to stay out of it,” Turlington said.
“But she’s really a storyteller, and I have a little bit of that in my work as an advocate,” she added, seemingly nodding to Grace’s book of poetry, Derived from us.
“So in that sense, very excited, I love her academic pursuits,” Turlington said. “The second part was a little harder to get excited about.”
As a model, Grace made her runway debut in Italy in June 2023 and later appeared alongside her mom in a Carolina Herrera campaign. She told HOMMES Magazine in 2022 that she was allowed to start modeling at 18.
