Cindy Crawford Says She ‘Never Even Thought About Modeling’ in Sneak Peek of New Supermodel TV Series

Apple TV+ gave PEOPLE a sneak peek at its upcoming four-part docuseries Super modelsin which Cindy Crawford reveals how she moved from her small town in Illinois to the glamorous catwalks of New York and Milan.

“I never even thought about modeling,” Crawford, 57, admitted in the 25-second clip, which opens with a photo of the supermodel from the 1980s when she was just starting her career.

“I didn’t even know it was a real job. I didn’t know how I was going to get from DeKalb, Illinois to a magazine,” said Crawford as she sat in a white director’s chair, dressed casually in a black dress and matching leather jacket.

The clip then cuts to footage of Crawford doing commercial work in the 80s. “My dad really didn’t understand that modeling was a real career,” she said. “He thought modeling was another name for prostitution. So they came with me to my first modeling appointment.”

“The Super Models” will premiere on Apple TV+ on September 20.
