Lorna’s husband Jim and daughter Jessica were there as she breathed her last, but her two children, Jamie and Leisa, could not be present. Her death had a long-term impact on the lives of her husband and children. One of her husband’s friends showed him a previously unseen video of Lorna singing at a party, which he wanted to preserve and share with others. Her husband was inspired by her and came up with the concept of developing AfterBook. This digital platform creates living memories for loved ones where individuals can post pictures, messages, movies and memories and invite family members and close friends to contribute to their loved one’s page. It allows individuals to express themselves. Exchanged images and ideas are stored forever. Jessica, the creator of the website, helped launch it.
She was interested in art.
Lorna has always been interested in art and wanted to attend art school. She was accepted to an art school, but her adoptive parents thought that nursing was a more respectable profession and enrolled her in nursing school. She devoted herself to nursing while also continuing to sketch and paint throughout her children’s youth. Jamie attributes his success in the creative field to his mother.
Second marriage
Her husband married his second wife, Samina Dornan, after she died. He is also a respected obstetrician and gynecologist. Although she is a stepmother, she maintains an excellent relationship with her stepchildren.
