The Citadel will be available on Amazon Prime Video on April 28, 2023. Two segments will be released on the day of the premiere, followed by a new show every Friday until May 26. This Prime Video original will follow a collection of highly skilled agents as they work together to restore order and safety to the world.

Citadel plot: What can we expect from the Amazon Video original?
Amazon Prime Video recently released the first trailer for the program. Citadel was unveiled in 2018, with a statement revealing that it will have several satellite spin-offs in local languages in addition to the primary series. These divestments are expected to take place in China, Mexico and elsewhere. Regarding the same, Amazon Video added:
“All local programming is intended to enhance the overall entertainment experience and will allow viewers to immerse themselves in an imagined complex universe.”
The story revolves around Citadel, an autonomous global spy organization whose mission is to ensure protection and security for all. However, there is a time jump as it is revealed that eight years before the current events of the series, a powerful gang known as the Manticore has supplanted the intelligence agency and is now influencing the world from the shadows. The residents of the Citadel have been stripped of their memories and are now leading new lives under new names.
The plot begins when Mason, a member of the Citadel, is found by a former colleague, Bernard Orlick. Only the Citadel can stop the Manticore from creating a new global order. Mason then contacts Nadia, a former spy/partner, to embark on a mission to save the world.
What the Russo siblings have to say about the new show
The main creators of the series, Anthony and Joseph Russo, praised it. According to Anthony Russo:
“We are dealing with a great spectacle. Because there are so many individuals involved, movement, growth, change and development, it can be challenging. Because of the size and complexity of the project, it took a long time.”
Joseph Russo went on to say:
“There are so many wonderful stories to share in various underserved areas of the world. Because of the aspirations, it was a really sensitive but beautiful process, and one of the most satisfying of our lives. This program has given us the opportunity to create a new family around the world to tell a huge story in a way that has never been done before.”
Citadel was founded by Josh Appelbaum and Bryan Oh. Anthony Russo, Joseph Russo, Mike Larocca, Angela Russo-Otstot, Scott Nemes, David Weil, Josh Appelbaum, André Nemec, Jeff Pinkner, Scott Rosenberg, Newton Thomas Sigel and Patrick Moran are among the executive producers.
The program was filmed in cities around the world, including Atlanta, London, Morocco and Valencia. The murder happened at the height of the Covid-19 epidemic. Priyanka Chopra Jonas described filming the series as “extremely difficult”, given the devastation caused by the epidemic. Alongside the programme, an Indian series based on Jonas Nadia’s Chopra character starring Varun Dhawan and Samantha Ruth Prabhu is currently in development.
