Claire Danes and Hugh Dancy are saying goodbye to the New York townhouse they’ve called home for more than a decade.
The married actors have officially put their West Village home on the market for $9.8 million after first buying it for $6.9 million in 2012, according to property records. The real estate move comes a year after Danes and Dancy welcomed their third child, a girl, in July 2023. They also share sons Rowan, 4, and Cyrus, 10.
Corcoran’s Tamer Howard, who currently holds the list, says for The New York Times that the couple are looking for a larger property that can better accommodate their family of five and accommodate their extended family when they come to visit.
Despite the real estate change, Country actress and Hannibal The alums have no plans to leave New York, Howard adds.

BKSK Architects founding partner Joan Krevlin—who helped bring Dan’s vision for the home to life through the extensive renovation—tells Outlet that the interior reflects the actress’ love of “loft living” while growing up in New York lofts. So the property offers an endless amount of natural light and an open floor plan.
With four bedrooms and four full bathrooms, the 3,890-square-foot townhouse also boasts three lush outdoor spaces. The property was built in the 1880s and overlooks the surrounding gardens.
Of the historic property, Howard says, “It’s been modernized incredibly well while still retaining its original West Village charm. It’s a really happy, romantic, special place.”
