Career
At the age of 4, Custer began racing square midgets. He won the USA National Young Guns in 2011. He also won 10 races and was Rookie of the Year.
He made his K&N Pro Series East debut in 2013 in Bristol. In 2013, he won the pole and led every lap, becoming the youngest K&N Pro Series race winner in six months.
In 2014, Custer won the Pro West inaugural race at Phoenix International Raceway, defeating Brennen Newberry and Greg Pursley. He also joined Haas Racing Development for nine races in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series. In 2014, he drove the Martinsville Kroger 250. In the Drivin’ for Linemen 200 at Motorsports Park, Custer started ninth and finished 12th.
Custer made his JR Motorsports Xfinity Series debut in 2016 at Richmond International Raceway. Custer finished fourth in the Hisense 4k TV 300 for Motorsports at Charlotte. He finished 37th at Daytona to open the Xfinity season in 2017. He finished 10th the following week at Atlanta.
Fontana, Chicago, Richmond, Pocono, Kentucky and Dover for Custer in 2019. Despite being declared the winner, he finished second after Denny Hamlin was disqualified. He finished second to Reddick at Homestead and second in points in 2019. Custer joined Rick Ware Racing in March 2018 and finished 25th at the Pennzoil 400 in Las Vegas.
