Vanessa Hudgens Is Pregnant! Actress Reveals She Is Expecting a Baby, Debuts Bump on Oscars Red Carpet

The actress and the baseball player got married in 2023 in Tulum, Mexico

It will be the beginning of something new for Vanessa Hudgens!

The High school musical The alum, 35, is pregnant and expecting her first child with husband Cole Tucker. Hudgens revealed her pregnancy in style, debuting her baby bump on the 2024 Academy Awards red carpet on Sunday.

The actress attended the Hollywood event in a floor-length black dress that showed off her baby bump.

As she posed for photos and gave interviews on the carpet, the mom-to-be clutched her baby bump with her hands. She smiled as she sent people’s congratulations.

In December 2023, Hudgens and Tucker tied the knot in a jungle wedding in Tulum, Mexico. The star shared exclusive photos and details of her private self in an interview with Vogue.

“[Writing my own vows] it was important to me,” Hudgens said Vogue. “I would also say to everyone: Write your vows and read them. The most beautiful thing about a relationship is being so open, vulnerable and raw in front of all the people you love who are declaring their love for you. It’s simply beautiful. I liked it.”

After dinner and speeches, the guests moved to another part of the hall where a live band played. Later, a DJ playing a playlist that Cole had prepared had everyone dancing.

“He covered all the hits and classics from Nelly to Eminem,” Hudgens said Vogue. “We danced for a while and then had late night snacks, like grilled cheese and pizza. And then we finished everything by 11 pm”

The High school musical alum shared her excitement about marrying the baseball player and showed off her sparkling emerald-cut engagement ring in an Instagram post in February 2023.

“YES. We couldn’t be happier 🤍,” the couple wrote in a joint Instagram post that came a week after PEOPLE confirmed the couple’s engagement.

In the sweet pictures, Hudgens showed off her engagement ring while sporting a long, maroon, almond-shaped manicure in front of the Eiffel Tower.

In another, she happily held up her ring finger as the two posed in front of a Paris historic landmark as Tucker gave her an intimate hug.

Although the couple has been relatively private about their relationship, Hudgens confirmed rumors that the two were dating during an appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show in May 2021 and revealed that she was the one who made the first move after they met on a Zoom meditation group call.

Hudgens and Tucker made their red carpet debut at the premiere of her Netflix movie Tick, Tick… BOOM! in November 2021 in Hollywood, California. Hudgens wore a white lace Vera Wang dress for the night out, while Tucker opted for a sleek black suit.

Since going public with their relationship, the couple hasn’t been shy about sharing posts with each other on social media.

Hudgens celebrated Tucker’s birthday in July 2022 with a sweet Instagram post.

“Who’s the big celebrant?! @cotuck is 😍🥳🥰 I hope you don’t mind that I put it into words…how about a wonderful life is now yours in the world. DAMN 😉🤟🏽🥂💋 Happy birthday baby ♥️, ” she wrote.

The Princess Switch the star previously posted photos from their trip to Antigua together. In one shot, Hudgens wore a white two-piece pleated midi dress and dark brown platform heels with her hair pulled back. Tucker also appeared in one picture, where they shared a sweet kiss in front of the water.

“Just magic ✨,” Hudgens captioned the photos, to which the athlete responded in the comments, “Lil shorty 😚.”

In an interview with Party tonight in April 2021, when asked what made them click, Hudgens replied, “He’s just perfect for me.”

“It’s me [happy]. I really am,” she continued. “I think it’s also really important to stay grateful for everything you have in life. It’s been a priority for me and I feel like it makes even more magic happen.”

Hudgens was previously in a relationship with actor Austin Butler for nearly eight years before breaking up in January 2020.
