Coronation Street star reveals she secretly gave birth to second child last summer – leaving soap co-stars shocked

CORONATION Street’s Jessica Barden has revealed she secretly gave birth to her second child.

The 32-year-old shocked her colleagues by posting out of the blue a photo of herself in the delivery room.

Jessica played Kayleigh Moreton on the ITV soap and released a collection of pictures from a recent shoot for the magazine, as well as her time in hospital giving birth.

She wrote on Instagram: “I’m late posting these crazy pics that I absolutely love and will cherish forever because I was having a baby lol.”

Jessica’s friends, including her former Corrie co-stars, were quick to express their astonishment at her shocking news, while others praised her glamorous look during her pregnancy photo shoot.

Fellow former Coronation Street actress Sacha Parkinson, who revealed she is expecting her first child this week, wrote: “Iconic.”

Brooke Vincent said: “Obsessed,” while another of Jessica’s followers commented: “Awww, congrats.”

Someone else wrote: “Amazing and congrats… thanks for sharing.”

And the fifth announced: “Beautiful pictures and congratulations.”

The actress revealed she was expecting her second child last October after showing off her baby bump during an appearance at the film’s premiere, but did not reveal how far along she was in the pregnancy.

The actress is known to be notoriously reclusive and never shared photos after the birth of her first child.

Jessica appeared on the ITV soap for almost two years between 2007 and 2008.

Her character was the youngest daughter of the Moreton family who was introduced in early 2007.

During her time on the soap, Kayleigh was involved in a number of storylines including a teenage romance with Chesney Battersby-Brown, played by Sam Aston, being neglected by her mother and being caught in a robbery at the Cabin.

Since leaving the soap, Jessica has gone on to forge a successful TV and film career and has appeared in a number of major film roles, including Tamara Drewe.

She also co-starred in the hit series The End of the F***ing World on Channel 4. Jessica recently joined the star-studded new hit sci-fi series Dune: Prophecy.
