Costessey cops give cause of death for sisters, 8 & 12, who died alongside their dad & aunt in ‘murder-suicide’ horror

Police revealed today that two young sisters died after their bodies were tragically found alongside their dad and aunt.

Bartlomiej Kuczynski, 45, his daughters Jasmin, 12, and Natasha, eight, and the girls’ aunt Kantich Noon, 36, were found dead at their home in Costessey, Norwich, on Friday.

The cause of death of Jasmin Kuczynska (12) and her eight-year-old sister Natasha, who were found dead in a house in Norfolk, has been revealed.

Norfolk police confirmed on Sunday that Bartlomiej and Kantich died of stab wounds to the neck.

An autopsy was performed today on the young girls, which tragically revealed that they died in the same way.

The deaths of Jasmin, Natasha and Kantiche are being treated as murder.

But Bartlomie’s death is not being treated as suspicious and no one else is wanted in connection with the death, police said.

It came as the mystery surrounding the death deepened – with more details of the dad’s mental health assessment being made public.

Floral gifts and two toy unicorns were left not far from the house in a quiet residential street – and more are being added every day.

They are sitting in front of the police cordon, while the house where the horror happened has been sealed off.

One heartbreaking tribute read: “Jasmine, you were such a sweet, caring girl, you and your sister didn’t deserve to have your lives taken.

“She would always be smiling in elementary school. You fly high beautiful girls.”

Another person wrote: “You will be missed. I feel sorry for everyone in the family going through this. Sorry Jasmine.”

Detective Chief Inspector Chris Burgess, who is leading the investigation, said today: “We understand how incredibly shocking this incident is for everyone involved and the wider community and this latest update adds to the heartbreak.

“Our thoughts are with the families of those found on the property who are grieving such a traumatic loss.

“We would like to thank the community for their help and we will continue to provide patrols in the area.

“A cordon will remain at the address until we have completed a thorough examination of the scene.”

Officers confirmed they contacted the police superintendent, after they failed to respond to a call to the house earlier that morning.

Police said they received a 999 call from the house shortly before the bodies were found.

Sources confirmed that Mr Kuczynski was the man who made the 6am call, to which the police did not send officers.

However, officers were not deployed until a second call from a citizen shortly before 7am.

Providing details of the phone call, Charmaine Arbouin, regional director of the IOPC, said: “Norfolk Police established that a man called police shortly before 6am on January 19.

“During that call, the man expressed concern about his own mental state, saying he was confused.

“He was advised to seek medical advice, but the police did not come.

“Around 7am, police received a call from a dog walker concerned for the welfare of those in the home.

“Officers arrived shortly afterwards and sadly found a man, woman and two children dead.”

How the mystery still remains over the quadruple tragedy

QUESTIONS about how the four deaths happened after it was revealed dad Bartlomiej called 911 have been mounting.

Despite warnings from officers about his mental state, he was told to seek medical advice.

Here are some unanswered questions that remain connected to the tragedy.

Why didn’t the police respond to the call?

Norfolk Police have still not confirmed why they did not send officers to the home when Bartlomiej raised concerns.

He told 999 he was “worried” about his mental state and was “confused”.

The IOPC is now investigating why that call was ignored.

What is a ‘missing person’ inquiry?

In another IOPC instruction, it was revealed that the police had previous contact with the family before the tragedy.

Police officers confirmed that it was in connection with a missing person investigation on December 14.

Bartlomiej was reported missing, but was later found wandering in the woods.

Why did the police only respond to the second call?

The alarm was raised an hour after the first call to 999 when a dog walker raised concerns for the welfare of the people inside.

It is not yet clear why he answered that phone call, and his dad was ignored.

Norfolk Police also said it would investigate and examine whether its officers’ contact with the man was “appropriate and in accordance with police policy, training and procedures”.

A security guard was also referred for coming to the home on December 14th in connection with a missing person investigation.

He was later discovered near his home and was taken to Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital for a mental health assessment.

But it has now emerged that the dad left before any tests could be carried out and the hospital is now releasing further details of his visit.

NNUH conducted an extensive review, but the hospital does not provide mental health services, the Eastern Daily Press reported.

A spokesman said: “We can confirm that the patient was taken to the emergency department by police on 14 December.

“Following a comprehensive clinical assessment, the patient was deemed to be mentally competent and left the unit before being reassessed by the team.”

In recent days, it was revealed that the girls’ mother was at work as a carer when the four were found, according to Kantich’s best friend Naty Wathanakul.

She told how the aunt arrived in the UK on December 27 and was supposed to return home the following month.

Kanticha and her sister ran a children’s clothing store, Malishop, based in Great Britain.

Describing her as a “caring” woman, Naty told The Mirror: “She loved her nephews, I always saw pictures of them together.

“She’s a single woman, no boyfriend, no husband, so she spent most of her time with those beautiful girls.”
