Britney Spears fans are in for a treat next month: the pop star’s 2002 coming-of-age film. Intersectionis set to appear in theaters again, 21 years after its first release.
On October 23rd and October 25th, Spears fans will be able to go to theaters around the world to watch Intersection. The film is being re-released by Trafalgar Releasing, Sony Music Entertainment and RCA Records to coincide with the release of Spears’ memoir, The woman in meOctober 24.
Intersection centers on the trio of Lucy (Spears), Mimi (Taryn Manning) and Kit (Zoe Saldaña) as they travel across the US to discover more about themselves and their friendship. Despite receiving poor reviews from critics upon its initial release, Intersection was a commercial success, grossing $61.1 million at the worldwide box office.

“We are excited to partner with Sony Music and RCA Records to create an opportunity for fans to enjoy this highly sought-after film in theaters and come together in support of Britney as she tells her story in her upcoming memoir,” said Marc Allenby, CEO of Trafalgar Releasing, said in an official press release obtained by PEOPLE.

Reflecting, director Tamra Davis said the cast and crew “had the best time in the world making this picture, and the connection the actresses bring to their performances shows in every frame. The music will undoubtedly have the audience dancing and singing along, and I know everyone we’ll have just as much fun watching these scenes as we did shooting them.”
Spears’ 2002 project will be re-released in 875 theaters in 24 countries worldwide. At the end of the film, fans will be treated to an additional performance of two of Spears’ songs from Intersection.

Just in front Intersection in cinemas, movie soundtrack, Crossroads: Special Editionwill be shared on streaming services on October 20. The soundtrack will contain all the classic songs from Intersection that viewers know and love, plus the addition of three new Spears remixes: “Overprotected (Richi Lopez Remix),” “I’m Not a Girl, Not Yet a Woman (Snakehips Remix)” and “I Love Rock ‘N Roll ( Frank Walker Remix).”
Spears’ memoir, due out in just over a month, is being touted as a “stunningly moving story of freedom, fame, motherhood, survival, faith and hope,” the press release continued. After bidding between multiple publishing houses, Gallery Books, an imprint of Simon & Schuster, bought the memoir.
