Ice cream lovers and engaged couples rejoice!
A wedding planner on TikTok recently shared the little-known fact that some Dairy Queen locations offer a Blizzard bar for weddings as part of their catering services, and revealed all the details to PEOPLE.
Cassie Horrell, event organizer and author My wedding my way she told PEOPLE in a statement that she provided ice cream treats for the couples and their guests courtesy of her local Dairy Queen in the Bethel Park area of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Based on Horrell’s experience with the service, the basic package includes fast food chain staff coming to your wedding with ice cream, a Blizzard machine, four to five toppings pre-selected by the client, and the spoons, napkins and various sizes of cups guests need to enjoy the ice cream .

Blizzard treats are then made to order according to guests’ preferences for parties of up to 150 people. If your party is larger than that, Horrell suggests asking Dairy Queen if they will make ice cream in advance for delivery to your event.
As for pricing, her customers paid a $150 delivery fee, a staff fee, and then individual Blizzards range from $4.50 to $6.50, depending on the size of the cups. You pay for the service in advance before the event.
Horrell’s clients have used mugs with the Dairy Queen logo on them, but she said couples can consider ordering custom mugs from sites like Etsy to add a touch of personalization.

She usually sees the Blizzard bar open during the dessert portion of the night at her events, but said the ice cream could serve as a late-night snack at the bar.

A representative for Dairy Queen told PEOPLE in a statement that the beloved fast food chain is happy to provide the iconic treat to newlyweds and their loved ones on their wedding day.
“Dairy Queen is the ultimate way to make a special occasion even sweeter. In fact, we’ve seen many Blizzard treats served at weddings over the years. Through pre-order and delivery, our fans have a way to get their favorite DQ treats on their special day, ” is part of the statement.
