Danielle Fishel’s life just got a lot sweeter since she welcomed her children, Adler Lawrence Karp and Keaton Joseph Karp.

After A boy meets the world The actress and her husband, Jensen Karp, married in 2018, and the couple started a family with the birth of their son, Adler, in June 2019. Although there were a few bumps in the road in the beginning due to medical reasons, he quickly recovered and is now often seen enjoying various sports like basketball and take a look at his mother’s career.

More than two years later, Adler became a big brother when Fishel and Karp celebrated the arrival of Keaton in August 2021. As he grew, Fishel shared special family moments, but as she did with Adler, she tries to protect their privacy while they they are still young hiding their faces on social networks.

However, she did talk about her parenting journey and juggling that burgeoning job in Hollywood. Although she admitted to feeling “mommy guilt” after Adler’s birth, the transition was easier after Keaton’s birth, and since then Fishel has continued to learn new lessons.

“I want my kids to look at the way I’ve lived my life and say, ‘Mistakes, flaws, whatever. It was good,’ she told Romper. ‘She was looking for her authentic self and striving for what was good for her and for the greater good of the family. I also want to emulate that.’ ”

Adler Lawrence Karp, 5

Fishel and Karp welcomed their first child, son Adler Lawrence Karp, on June 24, 2019. The couple told PEOPLE exclusively that his middle name is a tribute to Karp’s late father.

The A girl meets the world star announced on Instagram that he arrived a month early, and unfortunately, there were complications at birth, including a build-up of fluid in his lungs. After 21 days of receiving medical care in the neonatal intensive care unit, which included a procedure to help the healing process, Adler was well enough for his parents to take him home.

“He’s definitely a cool baby,” she later told PEOPLE, adding that he was born with a ton of hair. “He gives us a lot of smiles and…he’s very curious.”

Over the next few weeks, Fishel shared other candid behind-the-scenes moments with her son, like him meeting her former co-stars Ben Savage and Sabrina Carpenter for the first time.

Fast forward to when the COVID-19 pandemic hit the US in 2020, the actress thanked him in honor of his first birthday.

“You were an endless joy in an otherwise dark year,” she wrote alongside his photo. “Thank you for making it easier for me to get out of bed at 5:50 every day because I know your smile is waiting for me. And coffee.”

Although the television director is keeping Alder private, she shared glimpses of his milestones, including when he started walking, talking and his first memories of the holiday season.

In addition to his mom and dad, Adler shared a special bond with his late maternal grandfather, Joseph, who was affectionately known as Papa Joe. According to Fishel, the two had a “wonderful relationship” and Alder would often imitate him while pretending.

Keaton Joseph Karp, 3

Fishel and Karp expanded their family with the addition of a second child, Keaton Joseph Karp, on August 29, 2021.

After the actress announced her pregnancy on her fortieth birthday, she announced the birth by posting a photo of her older son holding Keaton. In the caption, Fishel revealed that Keaton was born on his late paternal grandfather’s birthday, and his middle name honors his now-deceased maternal grandfather.

“Adler is a super(hero) big brother and @jensenkarp and I are thrilled to have him home, safe and sound, with us,” she concluded the Instagram post.

Early on, her second son was ready to go and in no time he was walking around the house trying to keep up with his older brother.

“Keaton absolutely thinks everything Adler does is funny and wonderful and he can’t take his eyes off him,” Fishel said Parents. “I love watching them together. I can’t wait to see them grow together.”

In an interview with Romper, the entrepreneur said that it was a big adjustment to go from one child to two. Now, Fishel and her husband seem to have hit it off with their children.

From time to time, she posts a sneak peek into their daily family life, complete with arcade games, and the couple uses the holidays to publicly celebrate each other.

“Happy Mother’s Day to the best mom of a boy in the world, @daniellefishel,” Karp wrote on Instagram in 2023. “As much as our sons are gifts to us, she is a true gift to them.”
