Danny Masterson was transferred to a state prison a few months after being convicted of raping two women. A photo of him wearing an orange overall was also published.

A California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation representative told PEOPLE that the actor, 47, was booked into North Kern State Prison on Wednesday and is “going through the classification and intake process.”

The That 70s show the actor was being held in the Los Angeles County Jail after he was sentenced in September to 30 years to life in prison, ABC News reported, as he was found to be a potential flight risk.

Masterson was convicted in May of two rape charges stemming from a 2020 indictment that he forcibly raped three women in separate incidents between 2001 and 2003. He was originally set to stand trial on those charges in late 2022, but a mistrial was announced after jurors they could not come to a unanimous verdict.

After Masterson’s sentencing, his defense attorney told PEOPLE they plan to appeal the verdict.

In a statement to PEOPLE about the verdict, Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascón said, “Justice has finally been served.”

“This has been a long and arduous journey for the victims of Mr. Masterson,” Gascón’s statement read. “Not only did they survive his abuse, they also survived a system that is often not kind to the victims. I applaud their courage for coming forward and participating in this process. I hope that this sentence will somehow bring them peace and that their courage will be an example to others .”

Gascón went on to thank the judicial team, adding: “This was a very difficult case, but thanks to their hard work, experience and dedication, justice has finally been served today. One of my top priorities is to ensure that Los Angeles will no longer be a hunting ground for Hollywood an elite that thinks it has the right to hunt women.”

That same month, Bijou Phillips, Masterson’s ex-wife, filed for divorce, citing “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for their split in court documents obtained by PEOPLE.

“She wasn’t ready for the verdict. He never expected that he would be found guilty. She couldn’t believe that he was immediately taken into custody and remanded in custody,” a source told PEOPLE at the time.

A month after the divorce, Masterson granted Phillips full legal and physical custody of their daughter Fianna and requested visitation rights.
