Dean McDermott Shares Steamy Kiss with Lily Calo at LAX Before Tori Spelling’s Neighborhood Hostage Incident

Dean McDermott seems to be catching flights and feelings!

The 56-year-old actor, who split from wife Tori Spelling earlier this year, was photographed kissing Lily Calo at Los Angeles International Airport on Tuesday. The couple were seen cuddling up in the car as they loaded their luggage into the boot of the van.

The release comes a few days after Straight south alum first caught up with Cal, Senior Account Manager at Conscious Community Global. They also posed together in a photo posted on her company’s LinkedIn page earlier this month.

His kiss at the airport also came shortly before Spelling, 50, and her family were forced to evacuate their rental home Wednesday due to a nearby police standoff after a neighbor allegedly took someone hostage.

In the photos he posted Page sixthe Beverly Hills, 90210 alum she could be seen looking visibly distraught as she ran to her rental property to find her children – who she shares with McDermott – while a man next door barricaded himself in his house with a hostage.

The Los Angeles Police Department confirmed to PEOPLE that the incident happened around 9:06 a.m. When emergency services were called to respond to the situation, Spelling and her children were forced to evacuate as officers surrounded the home.

Spelling could be seen watching the situation unfold behind the yellow tape along with neighboring homeowners and taking phone calls as the standoff took place. Fortunately, no one was injured, and the suspect was released without material damage.

A representative for Spelling did not respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment.

McDermott first announced his and Spelling’s decision to split on Instagram in May.

“It is with great sadness and a very heavy heart that after 18 years together and 5 amazing children, @torispelling and I have decided to go our separate ways and embark on a new journey of our own,” McDermott wrote in a since-deleted post. “We will continue to work together as loving parents and guide and love our children through this difficult time. Please respect our privacy as we use this time to surround our family with love and get through this. Thank you all for your support and kindness. 🙏”

Although he deleted the post, a source told PEOPLE in June that McDermott is “100 percent serious” about ending his 17-year marriage to the actress.

“[Dean] 100 percent wants to get out of the marriage – said the source. “He resigned because Tori didn’t want him to stay that way. But he’s packing his bags and he’s 100 percent serious about it.”

At the time, McDermott did not move out of their home, which he shared with Spelling and their five children – daughters Stella, 15, and Hattie, 12, and sons Liam, 16, Finn, 11, and Beau, 6 – due to financial problems; the insider claimed McDermott couldn’t find an apartment he could “afford.”

“He can’t take it anymore. He told her he was done,” the source added.

But Spelling and her children ended up moving out of the home in May after discovering a mold infection that resulted in a “continuous spiral of illness” for her family. She later stepped out without her wedding ring in July and told TMZ she felt “blindsided” by McDermott’s decision to end their marriage. “I always looked better alone,” she added.

While Spelling hasn’t spoken at length about what caused the breakup, a source close to the star previously told PEOPLE that Spelling and McDermott have dealt with “ups and downs” over the years, though the split still seemed “really out of the blue.” ”

“If this had happened a year ago, it would have been expected because things between them were terrible,” the insider continued. “Of course, they still had their disagreements and didn’t always get along, but for the past six months things have been good between them.”
