They got married a year later, and then got engaged.

The couple had been dating since 2014 until Neves proposed in a romantic location in May 2018. Neves announced the news on social media, saying: “She said yes.” He posted photos of them on board toasting their special day with champagne. Neves said in an interview that 2018 was the most significant year for him since they won the title, which was his ambition, and he also got engaged to his fiancée. In 2019, the couple got married in a small ceremony. They have three lovely children: a girl, Margarida, and two boys, Martim and Mateo.

Neves saw the birth of their third child through his phone.

Lourenco traveled to Portugal to give birth to their third child on 30 January 2021, but Neves could not be with her as he may have missed matches due to quarantine laws and he did not want to miss matches. Although he wasn’t there, he witnessed her birth via Skype after sitting on the bench during the game against Crystal Palace. Neves claimed to have seen it on his phone on his way back from Crystal Palace and said it was difficult for him to pass up such an incredible opportunity.

He also explained why they decided to have a child in Portugal. He claims that Lourenco had difficulties with their first child and that they always wanted the same doctor for her, who is from Portugal. He said that it was his duty to play and that he would rather be there than miss two or three games.

Margarida, the couple’s first child, was born in 2017, the same year Neves joined Wolves. Neves traveled to Portugal the day after the season opener to be with Lourenco at the time of her birth. When asked about fatherhood, he said that it is a fantastic emotion that cannot be described in words, and at the same time it is one of the most beautiful things that a person can do.

His parents’ trust in him to develop and learn quickly helped shape him into who he is now.

Mr. and Mrs. Jose Neves, Neves’ parents, were born in Mozelos. He grew up in a middle class family with his younger sister Vanessa. Neves, an FC Porto fan, joined the club’s youth system when he was eight years old. He made his first-team debut aged 17, and at 18 became the youngest captain in Champions League history, helping Porto to a 2-0 win against Maccabi Tel Aviv before joining Wolverhampton Wanderers. He played in almost 200 games in England, winning the EFL title in his debut season.

At the age of 18, he made his debut for the senior national team of Portugal. Neves attributes his mature nature to his parents and claims that he has always been like that. He said that he was always like that thanks to his parents, who gave him the duty to grow up and learn quickly. According to him, his father went to work in Spain for three years when he was nine, and he only saw him once a month, which was terrible. He was in Portugal with his mother and younger sister, which most likely contributed to his personality. He had the idea that he had to take care of them, which led to maturity at an early age.
