Deepak Kumar is an Indian air rifle shooter and a non-commissioned officer (NCO) of the Indian Air Force. In 2021, he will represent India in the air rifle shooting event at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

DK Arya aka Deepak Kumar Gujjar was born on Thursday, November 5, 1987 in Jagatpur, Delhi (age 33; as of 2020). His zodiac sign is Scorpio. In 2008, he attended Gurukul Pondha in Dehradun, Uttarakhand, where he studied teachings in the fields of Vedas, Sanskrit and Yoga. Later, he pursued a degree in art from Maharshi Dayanand University in Rohtak, Haryana.
He developed an interest in archery while studying in Gurukul, Uttarakhand. He has also represented Uttarakhand in national-level archery competitions. Later, he gave up archery due to injury. He then turned his attention to shooting. He used to practice at the shooting range set up in Gurukul’s backyard. At first he practiced pistol shooting, and later switched to rifle shooting. Indian shooter Jaspal Rana inspired him to start shooting professionally.

Profession
After completing his studies from Gurukul, Dehradun, he joined the Indian Air Force as a non-commissioned officer and was later promoted to the rank of Air Force Sergeant. In 2017, he made his international shooting debut at the Commonwealth Shooting Championships. After winning his first medal, he said in an interview:
Everyone is constantly thinking about what they are going to get. I believe in spreading everything I learned during my days in Gurukul. You will eventually get what you deserve. There is no need to feel sad about anything. Life is short. I also fell behind in qualifying. I just thought about what he said. He often said “you have potential and you know your limits”. The beginning is bad, the middle is even worse. So I just tried to stay calm. “

In 2021, he got an Olympic quota to represent India in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. The Olympics were postponed to 2021 due to the 2020 coronavirus outbreak. In an interview, he talked about representing India in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. He said,
I have won an Olympic quota for India in the 10m air rifle event. I booked my spot for the national team after I won the bronze medal at the Asian Championships last year. However, my place in the Indian shooting team is yet to be confirmed. The Olympic team will be decided in a few months. I feel like I have a 99.99% chance of making the team because I’ve already achieved good results. India secured first place in all Shooting World Cups 2019. Therefore, I expect the Indian shooting team to do well in the Tokyo Olympics 2020. “
He has participated in various national and international rifle competitions and brought many honors to India. His coach is Indian striker Manoj Kumar. Deepak performs in AR60, ARMIX and ARTEAMM shooting competitions.

My goal is to win an Olympic gold medal and become a good person. My unforgettable moment was reaching the 10m air rifle finals at the 2017 ISSF World Cup in New Delhi, India. My heroes are disabled athletes. If they can do better, why can’t I? My influence is my coach Manoj Kumar. He’s a great shooter and now a coach. “
