Demi Lovato Goes From Dramatic Gown to Rocking Red Suit for AHA Red Dress Concert Performance

Demi Lovato takes the stage in style for a good cause.

On Wednesday, the “Heart Attack” singer (who uses the pronouns she/them) turned heads in a custom Nicole + Felicia Couture gown on the red carpet before performing at the American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women Red Dress Collection Concert in New York City. The annual event combines fashion, entertainment and philanthropy to raise awareness of women’s heart health.

Lovato, 31, later changed into an all-red pantsuit when she took the stage and shared some backstage pictures on her Instagram Story.

“Tonight is all about reminding women how important it is to advocate for yourself and prioritize your health,” she wrote in one post. “Join me and @american_heart and @goredforwomen as we go Red for Women!”

The last time Lovato took the stage was during her New Year’s Eve concert at The Cosmopolitan Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. While rocking out to the crowd, she was suddenly visited by her fiance, Jordan “Jutes” Lutes.

A rep for Lovato confirmed to PEOPLE that Lutes, 32, popped the question with a pear-shaped diamond solitaire engagement ring made by New York luxury jewelry boutique Material Good. He worked closely on the design with Teresa Panico, director of marketing and fine jewelry at Material Good, a SoHo, NYC retailer.

After a “personal and intimate proposal,” Lutes and Lovato — who first met in January 2022 when they co-wrote her song “Substance” — headed to Craig’s, one of their favorite restaurants in LA, to celebrated with their families.
