Denzel Washington Says He ‘Made Some Real Clunkers’ in the ’90s After Malcolm X: ‘I Was Earning. I Had Responsibilities’

Denzel Washington admits that his filmography is not perfect.

“So I was making money at that time,” he explained. “With a great agent, my career was built on making money and so the money started, and then life started, with bills, four kids and a house.”

“I haven’t watched any film from my past from beginning to end, not even Malcolm XWashington said. “All you see is what you did wrong. And why would you even do that?”

Earlier this week, Washington shared information about Australia Today’s show that his acting career has taken on a new focus now that he’s older and that he’s “only interested in working with the best and moving forward.”
