A Florida sheriff’s deputy gave a much-needed hug to a young girl who got separated from her mother on the beach — and the heartwarming moment was caught on camera!
Pinellas County Sheriff’s Deputy Geoff Moore was patrolling Indian Rocks Beach on Friday, May 10, when he received a call that a young girl was missing, according to a reel posted on the sheriff’s office’s Facebook page.
After the girl’s mother provided a description and a recent photo, Moore drove down the coast in search of the child, as seen on his dash cam.
Eventually, his vehicle stopped after he saw a girl standing by the water’s edge.

“I miss mom. I miss her,” the little girl can be heard saying in the video.
“Are you okay? Need a hug?” Moore asked her. “It’ll be fine. Let’s take you to mommy, okay?”

After the reunion of mother and daughter, the crowd that formed on the beach broke into applause.
“Thankfully, this story has a happy ending,” the sheriff’s office wrote on Facebook.
The sheriff’s office added, “Anytime you take your children to a crowded location, consider taking a photo of them in their current clothing so that if the unthinkable happens — your child gets lost — they can be found as soon as possible.”
