JAMES Morrison tragically discovered his partner hanged in their home after a friend failed to contact her, an inquest heard today.
Gill Catchpole, 45, was discovered on Friday at the home she shares with the singer and their two daughters in Whitminster, Gloucestershire.

A family friend confirmed to The Sun that James, 39, was being comforted by family and friends.
Today’s inquest into Gill’s death found that she died by hanging and was tragically discovered by the singer.
He was contacted by a friend who was struggling to get to their home, the hearing was told.
Police said they were confident there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding Gill’s death.
An autopsy gave the mother-of-two’s provisional cause of death as ligature suspension.
Gill was identified by her driving license and family members at the scene, the court heard.
A full inquest in Gloucestershire has been adjourned until a date to be fixed.
Gill, who has two daughters aged 15 and five with James, ran a cafe called the Cotswold Sandwich Box.
She previously wrote about her excitement about starting a business after undergoing a kidney transplant in 2022.
Gill’s death is the fourth tragedy to strike Brit Award-winning artist James, following the deaths of his father, brother and nephew.
The You Give Me Something singer met Gill when he was 17 after she moved into his mother’s home with her then-boyfriend.
James serenaded his future partner by singing songs from Stevie Wonder’s album Key Of Life.
They ended up hooking up, and the couple later had children together.
Speaking to The Sun in 2019, James revealed that his album You’re Stronger Than You Know was inspired by Gill after their youngest daughter was born 13 weeks premature.
He said: “Luckily I can look back and it’s all rosy and rosy now.”
James added: “But when Gill’s water broke and she was born so early and tiny, we didn’t know what was going to happen.
“That’s probably the lowest I’ve ever been.
“That’s why now, looking back, I called the album You’re Stronger Than You Know, because Gill was amazing.”
