Under Alabama law, the misdemeanor is a Class A misdemeanor, punishable by up to a year in jail and a $6,000 fine. According to the spokeswoman, Keith was expected to come forward on his own after the second order. A District 1 council member is facing four misdemeanor charges for allegedly shoplifting multiple products from a Walmart store. The case was initially handled by the Huntsville Police Department.
