Diego Armando Maradona Sinagra was born on Saturday, September 20, 1986 (34 years old in 2020) in Naples, Italy, and was raised by his mother, Cristiana Sinagra.

Diego Sinagra was the product of an affair between Argentinian football legend Diego Maradona and a young local woman, Italian model Cristiana Sinagra. His father died of a heart attack on Wednesday, November 25, 2020; just two weeks after he was released from hospital after undergoing surgery for a blood clot in his brain.
He has seven half-siblings, four half-sisters and four half-brothers. His two half-sisters, Dalma Nerea (born April 1987) and Giannina De Nora (born May 1989), are born to Maradona’s wife and Sinagra’s stepmother, Claudia Villafagne.
His third half-sister, Jana Maradona, was born in 1996 and is an underwear model.
His other half-brother, Diego Fernando, was born to Diego Maradona and Veronica Ojeda.
His other half-siblings’ names are Santiago Lara, Joana, Lu and Javielito.

In March 2015, he got engaged to his girlfriend of many years, Nunzia Pennino, and they got married on June 10, 2015 in a Roman Catholic church in Naples, Italy.

Early life
Diego Sinagra started playing professional football in the amateur league by joining Italian football club Cervia in 2005. In January 2006, he moved from Campania to Inter Milan, but played only two games for the club due to injuries.
In 2007, Sinagra started playing for Quarto, another club in Eccellenza, Campania, and they were promoted to Serie D after the club won the Eccellenza playoffs that season. Sinagra left the club on 16 November 2007 after a change of head coach at Quarto, and a few weeks later he signed for Venafro of Serie D, Molisan, and while playing for Venafro, his first goal came from 30 metres out on 21 January 2008. He later left Venafro and joined beach soccer team ASD Mare di Roma. Sinagra also played for FC America – (Eccellenza Campania) (December 2008 to August 2009), Juve Stabia (August 2009 to September 2009) and US Arzanese.
Beach Soccer
Diego Sinagra joined the Italian national beach soccer team on 29 April 2008, and played in the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup qualifiers held in Spain from 11 May 2008 to 18 May 2008. Sinagra made his debut for the national team on 12 May 2008 against Greece. After playing four games in the Beach Soccer World Cup qualifiers, Sinagra helped Italy to a fourth place finish and qualify for the World Cup. In June 2008, he scored six goals in three games for Roma, and Italian head coach Giancarlo Magrini was so convinced of his performance that he included him in the squad for the 2008 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup. Italy lost to Brazil 5–3 in the World Cup final, in which Sinagra scored two goals, including one in the final. In 2009, Napoli Beach Soccer Club bought Diego Sinagra and led the team to win the Italian Beach Soccer Championship for the first time in history.

- He had to wait a long time to be recognized as Diego Maradona’s son. Sinagra and his mother, Christiana Sinagra, had to fight a long legal battle to get their blood relationship recognized.
- In 1993, Maradona’s paternity was recognized by an Italian court, and in 2007, Maradona first acknowledged Sinagra as his son; however, it was not until August 25, 2016 that Maradona publicly acknowledged Sinagra as his son, and in front of the Buenos Aires media, Maradona declared,
I love him very much, he is very much like me.”
- Sinagra reportedly first met his father, Diego Maradona, in Fiuggi in 2003 when his father went there to participate in a golf tournament.
- According to some sources, Pope Francis, then Archbishop of Buenos Aires, tried to convince Maradona to acknowledge Sinagra as his son, an accusation denied by Maradona’s lawyers.
