Disgraced BBC star Huw Edwards allegedly sexually assaulted a 27-year-old in the toilets of a posh club after sending him nasty text messages.
Edwards, 62, admitted last month that he had been sent a series of child sex images – including sexual videos of a seven-year-old boy.

The Sun’s coverage of the Huw Edwards scandal
He received the images on WhatsApp between December 2020 and August 2021 – including a video of a boy under the age of nine.
It comes after The Sun revealed Edwards was suspended over allegations he paid a teenager for sexual photographs.
It is now alleged that Edwards, 62, met the man behind the woman’s back before groping him in a West End members’ club.
Edwards reportedly continued despite being asked to stop – saying he liked the risk of getting caught.
The man, aged 27 at the time, told the Mail: “One of the most shocking things was how brazenly aggressive he was.
“I think he got out based on the fact that he was a powerful figure and he could get away with grabbing me in the toilet.”
Before the meeting, Edwards allegedly boasted, “They’re hitting on you at the Ivy. I’m so fucking turned on it’s rude.”
Edwards also said he felt “very possessive” of the 27-year-old – warning he would “kill” anyone who laid eyes on him.
The alleged victim described the encounter as “predominantly predatory” and said he cut off contact with Edwards after that.
Edwards has been contacted for comment.
It came after the BBC asked Edwards to return more than £200,000 of his salary, which he earned following his arrest for filming child abuse images.
BBC chairman Samir Shah told staff that Edwards had “acted in bad faith” in a letter last week.
Shah said the BBC would not have continued to pay Edwards public money if he had been open about his arrest.
The BBC was told in November that its chief newsreader had been arrested over images of child sex – but was being paid for another five months.
News anchor Ten Edwards was suspended on various charges.
But he remained employed on a full salary of almost £480,000 until he left the broadcaster on “medical advice” in April.
A pedophile newsreader pleaded guilty to three counts of making indecent images of children last month.
In the five months between his arrest and his guilty plea, Edwards was paid more than £200,000.
In a statement, the BBC’s board of directors said: “Mr Edwards pleaded guilty to an appalling crime.
“If he had been open when asked by the BBC about his arrest, we would never have continued to pay him public money.
“He has clearly undermined confidence in the BBC and brought us into disrepute.”
‘AWFUL’
It comes after BBC boss Tim Davie admitted it was “impossible to restore Edwards’ pension”.
In an interview with BBC News, Davie addressed calls for Edwards to return part of his salary and give up his pension.
Davie said: “Nobody likes to see this situation. But unfortunately these are the specifics of how it works.
“We cannot return the pension – it is very difficult, almost impossible.
“I think as far as wages go – again, legally challenging, but we’ll look at all options.”
Davie also confirmed the Beeb knew Huw had committed “serious” offences.
He said: “We knew it was serious, we didn’t know anything in particular, other than the category of potential offences.”
BBC bosses were unaware of the ages of the children in the pictures, he added.
Davie said the BBC “doesn’t record anything that I think we need to share with the police, or is of a serious nature that would make me feel we have not acted properly”.
He added: “I can say categorically that when it comes to the offenses that we have seen, which are truly horrific, none of the evidence that exists is in the hands of the BBC.
“If I’ve seen the evidence for it, it’s not a complicated decision.”
When the allegations facing Huw Edwards came to light earlier this week, Davie said: “We were very shocked. Nobody knew the details of what we heard over the last few days, which were deeply disturbing.”
He also reiterated that the BBC had not made the potential allegations public at the request of the police, adding that the corporation also had to consider its duty of care.
“When it comes to the decision we made in November, obviously we were faced with a difficult decision and we considered it very carefully,” Davie said.
“The police came to us and informed us that they had arrested Mr. Edwards.
“But they wanted to be sure of complete trust, and the reason they called us at that time was because of the technical process to ensure that employees are protected and that there is no risk.”
He added: “Another factor at this point was the very important consideration of duty of care.
“I think it was right that we said we’re going to let the police do their job, and then when the charges come, we’re going to act.”

THIS is the latest in a long line of pedophile scandals dating back decades that have tarnished the BBC’s reputation.
The shocking crimes of Jimmy Savile rocked the corporation in 2012, when it was revealed that the presenter was a prolific sex offender.
Savile, who died in 2011 before the allegations became public knowledge, is believed to have assaulted up to 450 young people and police have recorded 31 rape allegations against him.
His crimes date back to 1955, and allegations include the abuse of desperately ill children and necrophilia.
Jonathan King, the BBC presenter and music impresario, was jailed for seven years in 2001 for abusing five teenagers in the 1980s.
Thick of It actor Chris Langham was jailed for ten months in 2007 for downloading images and videos of child sexual abuse.
That’s Knockout star Stuart Hall was given 30 months in 2013 for indecently assaulting girls.
Original Radio 1 presenter Chris Denning was jailed for 13 years in 2014 for abusing 26 boys between 1967 and 1987, and received another 13-year sentence two years later.
He was also jailed in the 1980s for assaulting boys.
And disgraced presenter Rolf Harris was jailed for five-and-a-half years in 2014 for abusing four girls, including one aged seven.
