Disney World Announces 2 New Lounges That Will Serve Alcohol — Including a Pirates of the Caribbean Tavern

Ouch! Two new lounges are coming to Disney World.

On Saturday, August 10, Disney announced a new Spaceship Earth lounge and shared new details about the previously announced Pirates of the Caribbean tavern is coming to a theme park in Florida. The plans and renderings were revealed during the Horizons: Disney Experiences Showcase at the D23 fan expo.

Both new restaurants — set to open in 2025 — will serve alcoholic beverages, PEOPLE confirms.

“At Disney Experiences, Imagineers dream up, create, design and build these stories into real places. And we have Imagineers all over the world right now because everything we’re about to share with you is in active development,” Disney Experiences said. President Josh D’Amaro. “The plans are drawn. The dirt is moving. I just want to be clear about this: We’re doing everything you’re going to hear tonight.”

The new Spaceship Earth-inspired lounge at EPCOT is described as a “zen space to gather and enjoy refreshments,” according to the Disney Parks Blog.

The sleek space will be decorated with “rich textures” and “warm metallic tones” that pay homage to the look of the ride-attraction.

The Pirates the lounge inspired by the hit 2003 film franchise is described as a “raucous watering hole” for pirates. They will live in the Magic Kingdom.

In the drawing of the space, there is a large armature in the shape of an anchor on the ceiling decorated with candles. The wooden space is decorated with red drapery and pirate motifs, including swords and pieces of treasure.

Disney announces Villain Land, Monsters Inc. Land, Encanto Ride Plus More is coming to Walt Disney World

The unique lounge was first announced in September 2023.

This year’s D23 was filled with exciting announcements, including a new one Indiana Jones– theme ride, an Encanto– theme ride, Monsters Inc. Land at Hollywood Studios and Villains land at Magic Kingdom.

Miley Cyrus, Angela Bassett and Kelly Ripa were named Disney Legends and the third Avatar the film also received an official title — Avatar: Fire and Ashes.
