Disney’s Snow White it will have to wait a little longer before it hits the big screen.
Release date for the live action reimagining, starring story from the west side actress Rachel Zegler as the titular princess, has been moved from March 22, 2024 to March 21, 2025.
A first-look image shared Friday shows Zegler, 22, in character and surrounded by Dopey, Grumpy, Sneezy, Shy, Happy, Sleepy and Doc. The film will feature new songs from The greatest showman’with Benj Pasek and Justin Paul.
Animated film from 1937 Snow white and seven dwarfs he helped develop the hand-drawn animation for which the studio would become famous, and included the first Disney princess.
His live-action reinvention follows others like those from 2017 Beauty and the Beastin 2019 Aladdin and Lion King, and this year’s Little Mermaid.
Disney has changed the release dates for several other titles. Eliothe sci-fi animated film co-produced with Pixar, has been moved from March 1, 2024 to June 13, 2025.

Searchlight Pictures, the distribution arm of Walt Disney Studios, removed Dreams magazine from December 8 without specifying another release date.
The film, which debuted at the Sundance Film Festival in January, stars Jonathan Majors, who is scheduled to face trial on November 29 following his arrest in March for an alleged domestic dispute. (His lawyers maintain that he is innocent.)
Production company New Regency, also under Disney, postponed indefinitely Cyclistsstarring Austin Butler, Jodie Comer and Tom Hardy, was originally scheduled for December 1st.
Disney’s next animated musical, Desireit will be released on November 22nd though. Searchlight’s Poor peopleby Yorgos Lanthimos and starring Emma Stone, remains in the December 8 slot.
Directed by Marc Webb, 2025 Snow White also stars Gal Gadot as the Evil Queen.

Zegler — who also leads Hunger Games prequel A ballad about songbirds and snakesin theaters from November 17 – previously divided on X (formerly Twitter) from Snow White that “the love this movie brought me is magical”.
“We really took a deep dive into fixing and creating a modern Snow White woman,” she told PEOPLE in 2022. The original iteration of the princess “doesn’t work for today’s audience,” she admitted. “I think she’s 13 in the original cartoon, so we started there and said, ‘No, she’s 18 in this one.’ She is a little more independent.”
In a previous statement, director Webb said of Zegler, “Rachel’s extraordinary vocal abilities are just the beginning of her gifts. Her strength, intelligence and optimism will become integral to the rediscovery of joy in this classic Disney fairy tale.”
